I don't see muddy creek having one for much longer. I also think ww ranch will get the next one maybe Florida tracks and trails but that's a long shot because of how south it is don't think it would bring much spectators.

I would guess it will be Florida or Texas getting the next one.

As much as I want a national back in Texas, the worst part of freestone is the viewing. Oak hill is better but it seems like it's missing a few of the pinnacle national obstacles. No Big jump, big rolling whoops, long high speed sections. It does have the best dirt that would be on the circuit though.

It's been many years since I've raced there (and not even sure if it's still open/operating) but I always thought Pecan Valley near McRae, GA would be a nice spot for a National. Long, wide track. Varying dirt types. Open parking. Of course, not sure if it's still open

How about a Boise national that is between Glen Helen and Sacramento. Great track with lots of elevation.

I love Oak Hill but it's simply not big enough for a pro national. Swan MX could do it but I'd be shocked if they ever got the opportunity. I don't think MX Sports wants to come back to Texas.

To the guy saying Broome Tioga had extremely nice dirt I must say that I thought I had gone to the national at Broome Tioga in 2001 but I must have been at the wrong address. The track I went to while cool with elevation did not have nice dirt. It had a lot of rocks.

Muddy creek should stick around. It always has a good crowd and is a nice facility. Heard last year Colorado was on the chopping block?

It'd be so cool if they had a Canadian round like SX does. Collaborate with CMRC and have a race at Gooher Dunes or Walton. Long shot no doubt and I can't see it happening. But if it did I'd be stoked

It wouldn't happen, but with Walton losing their CMRC national, they could no doubt put on a great AMA national. Facility is up to the standards, for sure.

The track is the least of the qualifications for a national. Infrastructure is what gets a national. Level pits, high end comfort for the media, high speed internet, access, viewing stands and on and on.
Remember Glen Helen dropping off the Nationals? It was all about infrastructure and what MX Sports required of the facility and not the track along with a guarantee so GH could recoup the expense.

Oak Ridge MX in Iowa would be pretty sick they had an LL qualifier there last year. It was built by shane shaefer (metty's bro inlaw).

I vote for monster mountain also but i agree with the post above. Infrastructure might be the issue. We have attended a few pro ams and LL area qualifiers there the last couple of years. Tom is awesome and knows how to put on a great show. I suspect though that mx sports basically "rents" a track to host the national and pays the owner a percentage?

Anyone know how that works?

I think there is just something really wrong with not having a MX National in the southeast region of the country. Bike sales are very strong there, pro's reside there, lots of excellent tracks there, lots of fans there, etc. Moto is definitely a lifestyle there. And this is coming from a guy who lives in the northeast with too many nationals nearby to attend.

And not to mention the sand found in that part of the country. This circuit desperately needs a minimum of one sand track and a second sand track would be awesome.

While Southwick is still a sand track, it seems like they've changed the dirt type over the years to make it less sandy.

Anyways def think WW or FTT should get a shot at the next open slot, WW's track is epic but so is FTT's but FTT has the works package, place is a moto paradise.... Yeah it will be hot as shit in the summer time but thats what the clear lake and tiki bar are for ...yeeeooowwwwww

DC has given his praise to Monster Mountain on here a few times and dotes on the track. The fscility itself is the holdback, if Tom is able to put in the supporting structure, my bet would be on them getting a shot at one. Skip Barber has built one heck of a track at the Barber Motorsports Complex in Birmingham as well, and Barber has the supporting structure in place already. That would be one to look at as well.

I've driven by the flying iron house ranch a few times on the highway and it looks awesome. I've never ridden it though. Check out @flyingironhorseranch on instagram. I got a screenshot for you old-timers that don't know what instagram is Wink

Would love to see Monster Mountain get a national.

We travel down to Monster last weekend and we were greeted with some tragic news. The folks at the gate told us that they were closed. Tom the owner's wife had passed away earlier that morning. Truly some sad news.
