Dungey got through the exact same situation without any problem.

Pretty sure the rule book doesn't say a rider about to be lapped is required to go a lap down

Yeah and I've had problems with lappers in the past too. Shit happens, it's racing.

Funny how quickly this board throws Stewart under the bus

Stew made him hesitate, Marvin will learn from this but I still think he wouldn't have hesitated if james woulda rolled. Just a learning experience and move on to a future On the podium!

Emig's analysis was spot on.

James 100% at fault.

"Zero track awareness", the Stewart trait.
He can always blame it on post-concussion syndrome.

hey, even my wife who just casually watches the races stated that Stewart was an idiot for trying to race the leaders. He got the blue flag 2 straights before the finish and then ran them high in the finish line corner and raced them through the whoops..... that is obstruction. I agree, Stewart is an idiot.

Dungey knows that Stewart did not move over and let them by so he could mess with Dungey. Hey James it backfired and you just gave Dungey another win.

First race outcome that James had affected in years.

What an idiot.
2/27/2016 7:20pm
Plain and simple...he did not want to get lapped.
Decided he'd have a little race with the leaders. Too bad he couldn't do that 15 laps earlier.
Whether that is explicitly against the rules or not, it is certainly not what is supposed to happen.

How many more times do you have to watch the replays? The racing line was on the right side of the whoops, Stewart was clearly on the left side. He didn't block Marvin, he blocked Dungey, who made the pass and won.

I thought his actions were pretty lame also. I can understand being caught up in the moment, but this isn't his first rodeo.

James got so distracted at someone walking across the track in front of him he crashed... wtf does he think racing the leaders as a lapper do to the leaders' concentration?

What's funny is since the James incident no one will even mention Anderson taking out Seely. He takes riders out more than anyone.

He should have been well out of the way before they even got to the whoops. He then raced through the whoops and ran Marv high in the corner. It's the last lap, you're on your own and the battle for the lead is coming through just get well out of the way like anyone else would've done and did do, even those with in a battle of their own

DV thinks your are high

@DavidVuillemin If you think James had nothing to do with it (as I get a lot of tweets saying that), you're high & your FS1 tv package should be removed

Very proud of Big James. He fought hard for that 14th place finish.

Mr. Perfect has no right to call out Stewart considering what he did to him at A1. None!

Think of it this way, if that was Stewart in the lead with Dungey chasing, and then Dungey getting the lead past JS with MM being the lapper who was guilty of impeding, the Stewart fans would be going bat shit crazy right now.

James held his lines yes but he didn't get out of the way of the leaders that were racing for the win. He should have held his lines through the rhythms and whoops, but gotten out of the way in the corners. He had his chances to move out of the way, but he clearly impacted the outcome of the race. Again, had the tables been turned - Stewart fans would be going ballistic on MM right now.
