I have never been a DV fan. That being said, when Bailey coached him back in 04, I pulled for him because DB is such s good friend.

When Windham famously t-boned DV that year, Bailey got pissed and made some comments, as did DV. 90% of the experts on the moto boards told DB that he was not only wrong, but that he was a pussy, idiot, shithead... You name it.

Read the main board. Windham says, and I quote, "Well, people are asking so here ya go...... I was so filled with emotion that I went into the corner in 2006 with only one goal. To take @dv934 out in a big way. It was stupid and I let emoting get the best of me.

Anyone care to admit that they called this one incorrectly?

As I remember it, nobody denied that Windham's move was intentional. We were mad because Whitelock docked him ten points.

I wish I could pull up that thread from way back when. Lots of "That was completely acceptable. DV gave him room and he should have shut off when he saw Kdub coming".

Similar to Reed nearly killing Stewart in Atlanta back a few years.

I booed RC when he tangled with Pastrana at that Anaheim race.

It was an emotional reaction and all these years later I still regret it.

Yes.. I am a Windham fan. Yes I cheered. No, I didn't want DV to get hurt. No, I wouldn't think DV was a pussy for saying something about it. It was a big take out.

What's the chance that in 2025 Ryan Dungey comments on a 2025 racing incident as follows - save this weekend's threads so that as Matthes puts it Blame Pie on weekend's RD5 / JS7 incident can be decided 9 yrs down the line:

"Well, folks here's my opinion on the Tate Reed / Liam Everts SX Lites issue during the 2025 season opener: I was so filled with emotion at A1 2016 with the return of title contender JS7 following his 1st full appearance post suspension that I went into a corner with only one goal - to take out JS7 in a big way. We all knew he'd be out with even the slightest contact to the head but made sure that the contact with the ground was hard & it even resulted in a red flag. It was stupid and I let emotions get the best of me"
