I have enjoyed shooting the breeze and learned a lot from a lot of people on here. But as I really don't know personally anyone on here and don't know manus involvement with the sport it would be cool to have like a meet and greet thread.

Like a resume or what have you so when some one speaks we can know who has some credibility or ???

Sure! I'll start.

I'm a joe blow from Michigan. I'm 27, and work outside the moto industry as management at the largest combination gas and electric provider in the country. I've been racing moto since I was 11 (80 C), and peaked in 450 B. When I met my wife and her family, they got me into enduros. In 2010 I won the AMA National Enduro B Championship. Since then, I'm a professional practice rider and garage queen maintainer! Smile

I'm just some kid who likes dirtbikes. Been racing since '07 or so, took a few years off from 09 to about 14, was flirting with hitting the local expert level before that. Got back into it last year, now I'm a middle of the pack local B guy again. Went to mmi in 2010, been working mostly out of the industry since while doing work on my own bikes and for friends on the side, trying to break back into wrenching now though. Cutting down trees and mowing grass just didn't do it for me, always end up coming back to what I'm passionate about.

I work in government networking and servers so I am 100% not in the industry. Just an avid follower and slowly getting better on a track. Get me on trails and I'm pretty darn good. Honda loyalist till the end.

I sure hope RC16 comes back for this one.

Im 28. I'm a nurse. And a terrible mechanic. But I'm learning. I hang out out twice a week or more at the local Yamaha shop, and learn things here and there. I love riding. Been riding since 3. Not fast. But I have pride in my technique. Wish I was faster. Overly biased towards two strokes. And I probably have a bias for anything yamaha. Except the 10-13 450s.

44 year old guy here. Professionally, I'm a nurse. I been riding dirt bikes my whole life ( mostly like xr type bikes). Then in 2004 my two sons ages 12 and 14 at the time wanted to start racing motocross. Biggest regret I have is not letting them race sooner. I spent about 10 years fucking around drag racing cars when we could have been racing dirt bikes. But, I'm righting that wrong now as my grandson has already been riding for 2.5 years and racing for 2. He is 7 now.

I love the motocross scene and riding it as well but after two back to back wrecks last year (both times was someone else's fault) left me out of work for 9 monthe I had to sell mine til I can rebuild the Ole bank account. I'm a fairly decent wrench. I can work on just about anything.

57 year old average Joe. Bought the first issue of Dirt Bike and my life changed. Raced some in the 70's, a great time to be involved in the sport and watch it grow. Lost my way in the 80's and didn't ride much but still followed the motocross scene. Got back into it in the 90's but could never race again seriously due to my career as a zookeeper...working weekends is standard for most of us. Currently restoring a 78 YZ250 and hoping to at least get the occasional Saturday or Sunday off to do some vintage racing.
I'm constantly impressed with the knowledge, skills and and racing credentials of the people on this board.

47 and work in the oil and gas industry. Been around motocross since 5 or 6 years old as a spectator. Parents wouldn't allow me to have a bike but my uncles took me along as I was /am a freak for MX. At 20 years old I bought a truck and a dirt bike on the same day and for the last 27 years I have raced or ridden every weekend barring weather or injury recovery. I have always worked on my own bikes and followed the sport closely. Been a member of mxforums with the same user name from the earliest of days of MikeeP's Fresh Dirt.

I'm another D14 (Michigan) veteran (well into my 50+ years). As a kid my dad was into sports car racing and owned a bunch of Corvettes so that caught my attention and I enjoyed traditional stick and ball stuff as well. When I was about 13 or 14 a buddy bought a 125 Elsinore and I was instantly hooked! I bugged the hell out of my parents until they finally let me get a bike and I have never been able to get it out of my system since Smile I raced some in my late teens and did ok, raced d14 and in the Silverdome once (amatuer) but never was commited to going every weekend. I also did some trail riding and ice riding for kicks. From about age 21 to 30 I did not race/ride or own a bike but became a pro spectator at many of the Nationals and Supercrosses in the East during that time. In the late 80's I fooled around with Jet Ski racing some and even went to a national on Lake Michigan one year but in the mean time one of my brothers bought a 89 CR500 and started racing. In 1990 my bro raced all year in D14 and won the C class title and watching him knowing I could ride as well or better drove me to abandon the Jet Ski stuff and go get a bike. I came back to MX in 1991 with a new leftover 1990 CR500 in 30+ here in D14. At that time the 30+ class was crazy here in Michigan, there were days at the now defunct Iron Mustangs track in Brighton that we would have like 60 guys entered and they would literally split us into two seperate groups for the day. I was happy just to break the top10 back then and have the honor of collecting a couple bucks at the payout window...lol. I then proceeded to buy a new house and my riiding budget took a hit again for a few years but I kept comong back to the sport. My best days were in my mid forties as I got my ass into decent shape and actually got to the point I could win some races. I have finished second in the state twice once in 45+ and a couple years ago in 50+ and also qualified and raced at LL's in 2013. I could go on and on but this is already probably too much info about my forays into slinging dirt!

One more little ditty... I was an early convert to the 4 strokes and because of that and my stature (I'm 6'1" 200lbs+) a riding buddy knicknamed me "Thunder" and it has stuck with me ever since. It is one of the coolest things I ever had come to me as a result of riding and racing not to mention all the friends I have made!

I'm 37 years old and I'm a sales rep for a large national construction material supplier but have worked in moto shops.
My Dad started racing motocross (scrambles) in 1960 and I was six weeks old when he took me to my first race, there's a photo somewhere of me sat on his CCM that day, June 1978ish. I have ridden/raced all my life and for 2016 I will again be racing the British clubman and selected British Championship sidecarcross series with my brother on a KX500 powered EML, our 5th season on a sidecar.

I am 26, almost 27. I quit my $60,000+ a year job and traveled with Team Gus, worked as a mechanic for two different riders, and did the outdoors and SX, we even made two main events. I am a decent mechanic, but better off in the real world. It was a cool, one year deal and I loved every minute of it. Man, do I have some stories as well. My woman and I even conceived our child at RedBud this year!! Haha!

I have been selling motorcycles since I was 18 and have been completely committed to the dealership life ever since. Some kids grow up wanting to play for the Celtics, or Giants, or whoever, I have wanted to own a store since I was 10.

Fly fishing is my next biggest passion outside of MX.

Boom! Me in a nutshell.

Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical... summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap sack and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really. At the age of 12, I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum. It's breathtaking. I suggest you try it.

In office I type fancy word sentences for websites. Outside office I ride around in the woods and staple arrows on trees.

I also sell propane and propane accessories.

The question I have is whether Vilma rocked the hardwood floors?

I'm 30 now. Been riding and racing since 4 so I've been at it a while. My father obviousy got me into it. He is 60 now and still races harescrambles. Don't work in the industry, but my life heavily revolves around moto. Have a decent amount of A class wins from the '00s and more recently some +25 victory. Also have done maybe 10 or so harescrambles with my dad over the years and have a couple of AA class victories there as well. Only tried for LL's in A class and missed out before the shoulder injuries and hits to the head started racking up. I took off a handful of years in my early 20s, but kept my bike, riding here and there when I felt like it until I started racing and riding more often a couple years ago. Been working on my own bikes for probably 20 years now.

Hard to follow JT$ after that lmao.I'm 47, Started dirttracking in 1977, My dad got hurt moto xing(alot) so he thought flat track was safer. I started road racing in 1984, Got my national # in dirtrack in 87. My local Suzuki shop thought I could moto x.So in 90 I started mxing and have done all 3 ever since. My wife says I'm retired due to my number of broken bones equaling my age. I am returning to the circle this season to settle the score with some old nemesis and still rip it up on my 04 KX 125( When I can sneak it in). Started as a moto parts guy in 1984 to pay for tires and am still slinging parts and service tickets.

Well done JT$! I'm 37 and work in the collision industry. My dad didn't ride mx but was totally down with it but my mom wasn't so I excelled at bmx and street riding till I was 19 and bought myself my first bike. I've been riding ever since. Started racing about a year after I started. Won the first enduro I raced which was pretty cool and inspiring. Did enduros for a while then got into hare scrambles. Started in the B class and moved up to A and ran that for a number of years. Got 2nd overall a few years in a row then moved up to AA. That didn't go so well. Had a kid on the way and was working long hours so racing suffered. Started racing more moto locally for fun and this past year started racing bmx again with my girls and had the time of my life. I'm a 2stroke hold out that's been thinking of getting a new 450. I don't really get caught up in the 2t vs 4t crap cause at the end of the day we are all still riding dirt bikes so it's all good. I like Hondas so I'm a little bitter toward them for axing the cr(wtf). I got a 94 cr250 that I'm rebuilding/upgrading and can't wait for it to be done. I also got a long term xr500 street tracker build going on. I'm using as much moto stuff on that project as possible. I'm pretty much into any thing with wheels(except quads). Pretty much a full blown gear head.

Started riding around 5, doing mostly play riding. Raced locally pretty heavily @ district level from 2006 to 2008. Never got much better than B class. Quickly realized I enjoyed working on bikes more than racing. Spent a couple years working at a local dealership, focusing on MX bikes.

Did a short stint in 2009 as a privateer mechanic and did the AMA national series as well as a lot of regional AX races. Stopped doing that to focus on college, during which I worked on bikes locally out of my garage. This was actually pretty cool because I could go to school during the week, and then make enough money on the weekends working on bikes to pay for school so that I didn't have to work during the week.

Graduated college in 2010 and have been working as a Manufacturing Engineer ever since. I currently work for one of the largest Ag companies in the world specializing in Project Management. Working on a Master's degree for Engineering Management @ Iowa State.

Don't ride much anymore. Still work on bikes occasionally. check Vital daily and watch most of the races and attend local club races

Evil volcano cultists abducted me as a baby. Then, I was saved from mass baby sacrifice by two paladins, one a wise-cracking rookie representing St. Cuthbert and the other a by-the-book veteran spreading the word of Pelor. In an explosion-filled magic carpet chase through the underground geyser system, the head cultist managed to possess me just before biting it. I was taken to an orphanage where eventually a master of kung-fu adopted me, recognizing my potential, even at such an early age. I spent my childhood learning how to punch and kick, but mostly how-to seek inner peace. At night, I warred with the spirit of the cultist in my dreams, besting him in his weakened form, but I slowly came to realize that one day, he would overpower me. At the age of nine, I fled the monastery and fell into the hands of some gnomish sailors, who tried to sell me into slavery to an Orcish cabal of alchemists. The sale was interrupted by a raiding party of gnolls, though. In the ensuing battle, my left arms was crippled while stealing a worg and attempting to ride to safety. I trudged on through the deserts and plains and foothills, subsisting off of the (un)mercy of nature and fleeing the daily hordes of monsters and unnameable entities. After weeks of travel, I made it to a trading hub and apprenticed myself to the mad cleric of Olidamarra who healed my arm....several times after repeatedly crippling it for laughs. For years, I was used as guinea pig for the cleric's wizard friends, gaining all manner of maladies and additions to my physical form. During a boring afternoon, the evil cultist in my soul finally took over and promptly murdered the cleric, using my mouth to scream something about "violations" and weeping profusely. I regained control weeks afterward to realize that I was suddenly a famous adventurer, having defeated some guy which was totally bad ass (even though I don't remember it. But I do have a wooden fish souvenir thingy.) I turned in the souvenir for a lottery ticket, won, then lost it all... now I work here...

I'm 26. Safety Manager in heavy civil construction for a large mid Atlantic contractor. Got a JR 50 with training wheels for my 4th birthday. Mostly trail rode, and dabbled with a bit with MX until I was 14 in the C class. Raced 30 times that year, and never since have I rode/ raced that much. I'm local B class, and don't feel that I've peaked. I'm not fast by any means, but I get smarter with age and my fitness is better than ever... +30B/C is my only hope of ever seeing LL's... And that's a long shot.

I'm 44, have been riding since I was 10, racing since 1985, and never got very fast. After college I returned to racing and got faster, then won a few local series championships as a Vet Intermediate. Just before turning 30 and racing the vets, I was fortunate enough to race with guys in the 125cc Intermediate class who later went on to become fast pros (Laninovich, Sleeter, Owens, Reif to name a few.) I'm happy to call some of them friends to this day.
I've worked in the motorcycle industry for nearly my entire professional career, starting at a local Yamaha dealer and moving through a few aftermarket companies and one other OEM to my current position at an OEM today.

25. Product Development Engineer, I only work so I can afford to ride moto and mod my truck.

Nothing better than hanging in the garage, knocking back a few cold ones and wrenching on bikes.

Actually you are one of the ones I was interested in the most. Knowing who is telling stories and updates and with what credibility they have.
