Pro/AM 125 One 1st. Place... What was nice is... back in those days there were a lot of riders in the classes...

I can remember racing 125A class Highpoint National Weekend & there would be over 70 riders entered
you could make some money

125A group 1 top 20 advance 1st moto

125A group 2 top 20 advance 1st moto

125A moto 2 consolation race

125A moto 2 Main

good times...

Please note well: Future Pro "Anna Cornfield" my avatar, has won more races in one year then I have in a life time
ya local races used to be really competitive in all classes.
It sucks nowadays when a track like High Point gets roughly 5-7 per class in a state championship race

plenty of national level talent back in those days coming out of western PA

A few moto wins in the vet class, one overall win. None when I was racing 125/250 B/C back in the 90's when I was racing more seriously.

I guess I will claim my dad's many wins for him since he isn't on Vital. My dad was also the one time expert champion in Oregon.

Won quite a few in the 125 Int. & Experts...and quite a few in 250 Nov & Int....and a few in 250 Expert. But, that was back when dinosaurs (and Elsinores) roamed the earth. Wink

Yes. From the 70's right through til now. As a matter of fact, I have not lost a single lap in my age group (50+) for the last 3 years, and I race most weekends. Sorry if that is a cocky statement. Truth is it felt good to say.

My biggest win would be the 450 pro class at a Hillclimb a couple years ago. I don't race moto very much but I have won a couple times, and I have a few Bmx state championships. Oh, and I have a few pitbike wins, but even more dnfs, damn pit bikes just don't hold together for me!Laughing

Yes

From my Novice days at Baylands to my old fart days at Glen Helen & everything from Saddleback to Mt. View in-between.

What might be an interesting thread is:

"What tracks have you raced and won at?"

You've got Full-Spectrum in here and some of the replies might surprise a lot of you.

For instance: guys like BobbyM raced The Real "Hangtown"...

Hah . . . won a moto at Bayland (last turn pass!!), never won an overall, but threw a couple away.

Speed, skill and stamina were never my strengths . . . but I had a lot of fun.

Won lots of races and several championships in MX, SX ,Speedway and won a few cross country ,enduro and ice races as well. Won races in the 70's 80's 90's 00's Had shoulder surgery one year and couldn't race MX so I took up speedway racing for a summer and won 6 of 6.The only thing I didn't win was shifter kart racing,I don't get along with pavement I guess.

BobbyM has won plenty of races!

I didn't win this moto at the 1984 Hangtown national (I didn't win any national moto's), but this is me getting the holeshot there in the first moto.

This was in 1986 I think. Check out some of the racers in these results; specifically the winner of the 125 Nov and third place in the 80 Nov Stk classes! I was king that day.....long before someone else became "The King!"

Yeah ONE race, 1998, on a Husaberg 4-stroke in with the 2 strokes, back when I might have been the only 4-stroke at the whole meeting, gate to flag and it felt easy, things just clicked into place that day but NEVER again. Won money for holeshots at a British 4-stroke national at Matchams park one time too.... Not many trophies but I have memories that will last a lifetime!!!

been racing for 12 years, VET class for 11 of them. My first win was at Glen Helen, SRA Grand Prix and very anti-climatic, about 10 years ago. We race on Sunday but often wouldn't get the results until Wednesday or Thursday of the following week. Everything was manually scored with paper cards by humans, not computers.Lap times are 9+ minutes long and the course is 2+ miles long. They race all of the classes at the same time, with experts starting on line 1, then intermediate, then novice, then beginner, then maybe a woman's or kids class. So when you're racing, after 5-10 minutes, you could be passing someone in the wave ahead of you having a bad day and after 25 minutes of the 45 minute race, you could be lapping someone. So you really have NO CLUE where you are in the mix. It's not like you take the checkers and throw your hands in the air feeling victorious.

I logged in to check the results, like I had done 10-15 other times and saw my name at the top of the class, I had won. I got up, told my wife, drank a beer and looked at my bike with pride. Yea, pretty cool. Picked up the trophy the following month at the next race.

Since then, there's been a handful of wins, Adelanto Grand Prix being one of the bigger ones, but way more 2nd, 3rd and 4ths

Some of my very best memories were not wins, that's for sure.

Damn, you bested some heavy hitters! That article is very cool and definitely better than any trophy.

I have won 5 motos in my life, really really good feeling!

But like others have said, it was only when truly fast guys were absent, lol

My favorite win was in a local +25A race a few years ago, 5 guys in the class, 4 of us really equally matched and I was able to come from behind to win! Here is the video, if I could go back and change one thing in life it would be to aim my gopro just a little higher for this moto, lol

https://youtu.be/EWCVc5mTKfo

My moto dream at this point is to qualify for Loretta's some day, but realistically I am no where close to that caliber right now. Hoping to have some fun races in +30A next year as I just had a birthday!

Pretty sure all of us on here started out our potential existence by winning a race.
