Spoke to Cooper after the race about his impressive performances on the 450 and the differences in styles between AMA and MXGP, pretty interesting answers and shows how sharp the guys is picking up on the little details. Nice kid and very respectful about the other racers.

Also asked him about the Edmond's incident...Cooper Webb interview

You didnt ask him about the lisa leyland issue when she tried to interview him and he basically ignored her and wouldnt stop fixing the ground in front of his gate, dude comes off as a dick sometimes.

Maybe Coop's growing up a little...maybe. I agree a bit with PastranaWho. The kid has come off extremely cocky & disrespectful a time or three. Hope he "get's it" before long.

Arrogance wins I am afraid.

The boy will do well with his determination. He does come across as cocky but he will grow out of it ( like herlings)

So the dude cant do a quick interview??? because as you say "he was there to race"
She had to jump over the gate and go to him because he was being a dick about it and then gave these retarded ass answers. You would never see cairoli or dungey do shit like that and both are above cooper in the game.

...then you don't like his "retarded ass answers"....would they have been any better on the other side of the gate...
...you don't like Coop...we get it....
...and I didn't see Cairoli or Dungey ahead of him in either of his 2 motos...

I wonder if he was using a rekluse would have he stalled, do you think they even have these questions, same with electric start, you would think they would look back and ask what could we do differently to maybe save some positions etc..., the human factor will always be there so can we minimize the mistake?

It is easy to forget that riders like Web That have so much tallent and can win races are just young kids. I am impressed that they handle them selves as good as they do when a mic is put in their face immediately after a race.

People seem to form in 2 different camps as far as fans go. They either like the brash, confident rider with a bit of an attitude, that hangs it all out, or they like the nice, clean cut, soft spoken rider and they will fiercely defend the one they prefer.

To me Coop's got a little of both and can back the smack talk up on the track as well. The dude HATES to get beat and and will fight tooth and nail to win, I respect that.

Been a Cooper fan for years and this is one of the main reasons I've been telling my moto buddies:

"You have always been in the shadow of Adam Cianciaurulo coming up so how does it feel to finally get the recognition for how good you actually are."

Kind of like Villopoto always being in Alessi's shadow as amateurs.

That and he has massive heart, kind of old school I do not see him being cocky at all just very confident and he hates to lose.

When he went for the BLOCKPASS of the race by jumping over the berm against the World Champion, I just about shat my shorts! Woohoo

Good interview.
Thanks

He's a stud! He rode the shit out of that 450. Was a pleasure to watch. Name me a single person who's at the top of their sport who's hasn't been cocky or brash at some point? You may not see it on TV but it takes big egos and even bigger balls to become the best of the best. You don't battle the world champ on his home track and put up a hell of a fight without being brash. That's why Coop was battling world champ and we watch on the sidelines.

He may be brash and cocky but he backs it up on the track. I love that about him. He has passion and is driven to be a winner. I like it and respect to him.

What a fuck is your problem? She did not jump over the gate. It happens often that she interviews guy`s while they`re still prepping their start. Mechs are not allowed to do it in GP`s unlike in USA. For fucks sake you`re like bitchy woman that makes problems just to argue.

Its racing, to many, the race starts well before you line up and begin mental prep. Giving a pair or tits the cold shoulder during game time is fine by me, those tag-tahs while still be warm for a post interview

I've interviewed a lot of riders since starting MotoXAdicts, and none are more intense than Cooper Webb. He is 100% focused and not a fan of anyone, but after the checkered flag waves he's awesome to talk to. I talked to him and USGP and knew he was going to bring it at MXoN. While he is the most honest rider I've ever interviewed as far as shooting straight from the hip--no bullshit with Cooper--he is hard to get two words from once the race-day starts. When I saw Lisa looking for him on the gate, I knew it was going to be a tough interview for her.

I like these pre race interviews. Interesting to see if the riders are nervous, relaxed, focused or whatever. Webb obviously didn't know whats going on at the first moment and the whole scenario indeed was a little awkward in the beginning but not a big deal at all. Leyland knows how to handle situations like that. It was just funny.

Herlings is not like that anymore,he's over all that stuff,Webb still has the outbursts like Herlings used to have such as threatening to take out Musquin but like Barcia will probably grow out of it,he does back it up though and is incredibly talented

It works being arrogant for some, others are pretty calm, humble, respectful or whatever, like Febvre,Cairoli,Nagl,Roczen etc

Everyone is different and handle things differently. He was preparing for the biggest race of his young career. Maybe he was a little direspectful, but he was also probably taking that time to deal with nerves and gain complete focus.

I spoke with Cooper in Atlanta at last years 2nd supercross race. I know these guys probably hate it when some random person forces conversation on them. He exited the trailer into the pit area. 2 young guys were standing by the fence. Cooper obviously knew them and walked over to speak to them. I walked over and waited for a moment to break in. He looked up and I sensed he was slightly agrivated. Maybe he was. Maybe he wasn't.

I only wanted him to know that he was raised less than 100 miles from where I live and I was pulling for him. I also know a kid he grew up racing. At that point, he was very cordial and thankful. My point is, these guys have people wanting a pert of them all the time. It is more difficult for some than others. He will mature and become better in these situations. If not, everyone has the right to criticize hime. Give the kid time. He's only 19 and under a microscope.

You wanna hear a story about someone cocky at des nations this weekend ? I got one for you.

There was a group of person with a chainsaw and at night, someone with a "mask" came and start to make noise with that chainsaw. The group of guys found it funny at first but the masked guy continue to make noise with the chainsaw of the group, even when they told him to stop. One of the dudes of this group was getting mad and punched the other guy and guess who was the masked man with chainsaw ? Dylan Ferrandis...
