Also, I can't imagine the viewing is very great in person unless you have some good binoculars.
On the other hand, watching the event on TV last year was very entertaining. I like the heads-up format vs having a single rider on the course. It went about as well last year as it possibly could. The thing that really put it over the top for myself and many others was Travis Pastrana showing up on that 500 and dominating the whoops.
It isn't real motocross without corners and a long moto, but it's a unique and very cool event during the offseason. Hopefully it goes as well as it did last year and they keep doing it once (only once) per year.

Re: the dangerous comment above, people were crashing their brains out every time we rode it. Maybe that's why they aren't building one this year.
It would be nice if the new track was built around the horse track rather than just the front stretch but the race would be twice as long and I guess the straight rhythm name would have to change too. I'm sure some will say the new location is appropriate as this is only a dog and pony show for Redbull anyhow.
I would watch the top riders race around 2 garbage cans. Definitely looks a little sketchy though.
ETA: I really dig this event. The head to head format really brings out the best in the riders.

Who's IN ?
Don't tell that to the guys who think "growing the sport" means racing around a grass field on modern 450s because that's what they did in the 1960s.
I love watchng OTHER PEOPLE rail on a dirt bike & this is simply another VERY WELL PRODUCED event that allows me watch THE BEST RIDERS SHRED.
Period.
There were plenty of grass field races back in the day.
My point wasn't so much about that as it was about guys that think that strictly adhering to historical racing tracks/principles because of the "heritage of the sport" is a way to bring new fans into what is ostensibly an extreme sport.
