I think it's fun to come into these threads and say something inflammatory just to expose the maniacs that are taking these arguments seriously.

But thats just it. Other than this chump called The Source and the new member from Lithuania (?) who sounds as though he's about fifteen years old, very, very few Europeans are go around saying anything like that. At least not until they're goaded into a pissing match anyway.

Flanard has just (accurately) highlighted that the common view among regular GP followers appears to be that RV should win in Qatar.

It might be funny, but it usually ruins what could otherwise turn out be a perfectly normal and respectful discussion.

Max nagl will win Qatar stamp it..... I just do it for a laugh all American riders are great everyone from Europe tunes into sx and the nationals all year round for one reason we all love motocross. It seems like most things in America if it doesn't happen in America it's not worth giving a shit about which In my eyes is wrong obviously a fair few on here do follow our series and the give the riders the credit they deserve.

I wasn't questioning the layout, just the prep is all. You can still have a REAL motocross track with some water and a little discing. Lets put ti this way, if I paid 20.00 to ride there for a day(which is the going rate for practice around here) I would want my money back, or at least a discount and that's me, just a no name, weekend practice racer now a days.

Yes, well, we'll see. You might be able to spend the next 7 months talking about how right you were all along (although again, I don't see many Euros categorically ruling Villopoto out anyway).

On the other hand, pride sometimes can come before a fall, and if Villopoto doesn't reproduce his AMA form in Europe, then i'm sure us Euros might feel entitled to a little schadenfreude at your expense. Smile

The only absolute certainty on this board these days is the way certain American members ruin thread after thread by deliberately prodding and poking around to get a rise out of European. As soon as someone bites the rest of the vultures descend en mass to put the person in their place. It's sad.
No, no. There is a very real chance Ryan doesn't go over and win. I've just heard it a lot lately, even by some of the journalists over there. It just feels like we're being told "Yeah Ryan might win, but it won't mean anything." It's just odd to me. It's just been repeated enough now that it feels like a wonderful way to either discredit a great ride or to jump all over a perceived failure.

Oh and that logic is horseshit if you've traveled and you know it. I've just spent a great deal of time with my Aussie relatives and there is plenty of chest thumping to go around. Every third word was Australia. I could say the same for people I know from all over. Most people love their countries.

There are just as many GP fans saying stupid stuff but you're naïve if you think this is going to be a cake walk for RV or that it's guaranteed he wins the championship. I think most would agree RV is the biggest threat to Cairoli in a while, but it's RV's last year in a totally foreign series. RV's training routine that helped him win all his championships in the US is totally different, the tracks are different, traveling is different, etc... If Cairoli was coming over to race in the US then I think it would be a different story, but this is Cairoli's back yard, and a championship he knows how to win.

I don't think the travel will be a huge deal...he's been travelling all over America for his entire life...and America is twice (three times?) the size of Europe (where MOST of the GP's are held), with one more time zone...Texas is almost as big as Europe. PLUS, he'll have on average two weeks between races to deal with the jet lag, and test for the next events. As for the food...he's not going to be eating out of food trucks or road side stands...I wouldn't be surprised if all the food he is used to eating is shipped from race to race so there is no variance in his diet, and if not, his team will make sure he gets what he needs at each event. Baker is on call...He'll have two days to learn the tracks/set up before the racing starts...

And above all, Ryan isn't the kind of rider that really thinks about things too much...he's a "get on and pin it" kind of rider...if anyone in America can deal with the changes, its Ryan.

Is every state in the US RV's back yard? No, but the point I was making is that Cairoli knows the tracks whereas RV doesn't. Cairoli has won the championship 8 times. Don't you think the odds would be in RV's favor if Cairoli came to the US to race the nationals? Just wait for Glen Helen and tell me RV doesn't have an advantage because he knows that track well.

And if you listen to riders who have actually done what RV is about to do (i.e. Reed on the Pulpmx show this week), they say exactly what I'm saying. The riding is the easy part - it's all the little things that matter to make sure he is comfortable and able to do what he needs to do.

I think RV will win the championship. I just don't think he's going to lap the field and dominate like some are suggesting/trolling.
