Surly100 Added a reply to MXoN - Maggiora, Italy - Bench Racing: The Motos
9/25/2016 8:01am You can keep the Indy 500, the Monaco GP, Le Mans 24 Hours, Isle of Man TT, Anaheim 1, and any other major motorsport event you can care to think of. For me, the Motocross of Nations is regularly the best and most exciting race in the world. And it didn't disappoint again this year. What drama right until the...

Surly100 Added a reply to Webb vs Herlings
9/6/2016 12:28pm I'm sure that once the likes of Anstie, Herlings and Ferrandis have progressed to MX1, some new MX2 talent will come to the fore. And as a feeder series - which is really what it is - I think it's done a good job of bringing riders on. Roczen, Musquin, Cairoli, Pourcel, Gajser, Febvre, Paulin and Van Horebeek have all...

9/3/2016 4:55pm Great ride from Tomac, who dominated the field. Tomac, Roczen and Herlings are the current stand out riders in world motocross for me. Certainly the best in terms of raw speed, and if you get their best consistently, you're getting a world or AMA champion, or just abouts.

9/3/2016 2:56pm Congrats to Herlings on yet another world motocross title. I've thought since 2011, when they went head to head for the MX2 world title, that Herlings and Roczen were going to rule motocross for years to come - no matter where they ride. No reason to think otherwise now.

9/3/2016 2:03am 450 podium: Cairoli Tomac Nagl 250 Podium: Herlings Anstie Webb Probably biased towards the GP guys, but there you go.
Surly100 Added a reply to Charlotte USGP prediction
9/3/2016 1:39am Cairoli and Herlings will be the top European finishers, and both on the podium. Tomac and Barcia look like the standout AMA names in the 450 class. Would be no surprise to see either of them winning. With a 'home' advantage of sorts, I would expect them to be running close to the front. But then the GP class is...
Surly100 Added a reply to 2017 silly season
9/1/2016 1:14am Any news on where Tommy Searle will be next year? Staying with DRT, another Kawasaki team, or a different brand entirely?
Surly100 Started a new thread British MxDN team announced: Searle, Simpson and Anstie.
8/21/2016 3:29am Fairly predictable I suppose, although I would've plumped for Dean Wilson over Simpson, given he's been showing great form over the last few weeks (a couple of top 5 finishes yesterday). While Simpson - I think because of injury - hasn't been at his best, at least in the GPs. Still, it's a strong team. Anstie is capable of a...

Surly100 Added a reply to Max Anstie.
8/20/2016 3:43am He's probably the 3rd fastest guy in MX2 after Herlings and Ferrandis. And he can give Ferrandis a run for his money on his day. Seewer is some decent competition for him as well. Whether that will translate into MX1 success, I don't know. Look at Tommy Searle. Multiple time GP winner in MX2, but hasn't yet even podiumed in...

8/14/2016 1:10am Very encouraging to see Dean Wilson get a top 5 in the 2nd moto. Surely now between him and Shaun Simpson for the final place on the British MxDN team (Anstie 250, Searle 450). I'd go with Wilson personally. And it's a team that's capable of podiuming with a bit of luck.
Surly100 Added a reply to MXGP of Frauenfeld - Gachnang, Switzerland - Weekend Discussion
8/7/2016 10:29am So he could be the reigning MX2 and MXGP champion at the same time? Not bad. Not bad at all. Some great racing today though. Good to see Searle get out of the gate well twice, and finish top 6 overall. Definitely starting to show a bit of form after 2 years of bad luck, injuries and - by his...
Surly100 Added a reply to MXGP Matterley Basin Sunday race day discussion
6/19/2016 2:11pm Had Roczen stayed in Europe, I think he'd already have at least one 450 title. He certainly had Herlings' number in 2011, on the same machinery, and the age difference between them wasn't that big. And if you're better than Herlings in Europe, you're pretty much better than everyone. When he's fit, he is the undisputed best motocross rider in...
Surly100 Started a new thread U.K. viewers: Motors TV pulled from Sky.
2/27/2016 8:38am It's completely gone, without any prior warning: http://www.a516digital.com/2016/02/motors-tv-pulls-sky-uk-distribution… Given it's the only channel that shows GP motocross live, guess i'll just have to subscribe to MXGP TV.

Surly100 Added a reply to I'm done with motocross ,what should I do now?
2/21/2016 6:31am Is there much of a trials scene in the U.S.? It's much slower than motocross, so not as dangerous, and is still hella fun. Here's a video from a round of the world trials championships to give you an idea of what it's like:
Surly100 Added a reply to Tommy Searle's ride in 2016.
10/29/2015 12:58pm Searle Vs Simpson in the British Championships could be very tasty indeed. And hopefully the intensity of the racing will help them both in the GPs.
Surly100 Started a new thread Tommy Searle's ride in 2016.
10/29/2015 12:58pm Any of the British vital members know / heard anything about who Tommy will be riding for in 2016? I've not yet seen anything to suggest he'll be leaving factory KTM, but I haven't seen anything saying he'll be staying either. There was a suggestion a month or so back (I think at MX Vice) that he could be signing...

Surly100 Added a reply to How about that "B Team"
9/27/2015 12:12pm Yeah, Roczen could easily be on the A team. As good as anyone in the world when he's on it.
Surly100 Added a reply to How about that "B Team"
9/27/2015 12:07pm Me neither. The Nations format works just fine as it is. But i'd just like to see more occasions where the world's best riders are competing against each other. As it is, they're split over two different series', and only ride against each other once a year - selection, fitness, and desire to actually participate allowing. An AMA Vs GPs...

9/27/2015 11:29am I don't think there's any doubt that the U.S. has the greatest strength in depth of any individual country. But the population is like 320m, which is greater than the populations of France, Germany, the Netherlands, the U.K., Italy and Belgium combined. And imagine if those all joined together to form a European super state. They could put out at...
Surly100 Added a reply to Most Impressive Rider of the Weekend
9/27/2015 10:58am Barcia was really fast and won his class, and Febvre went 1-1, and you can't do better than that. They were the cream of the crop for me, and would be legit contenders in any series. But it was Tanel Leok and Ben Townley who put in the pound for pound best rides. Townley rolled back the years and kept...
