Serious question here. What is this good for the sport talk all about? Let's say she makes the night show at some point. What exactly do you see coming from it? Right now it is a novelty because she's a girl. After that wears off then what? If she was not a girl she would not have gotten 1 interview. No news channels would care to speak to her. She would be invisible. Then in every interview she states that it has nothing to be with her being the first female to make a sx. If that is the case quit giving all the interviews and do your thing. When a girl with the skills to make it happen (Hannah Hodges) goes for it then I will be all for it. But I am not going to get excited about Golden just as I don't get excited about anyone else in the back of C practice. Carry on.
This is easy....
How many Girl-friends go to the races with their Boy friends?
How many Wifes go to the races with their Husbands?
How many young Girls go to the races because their whole Family is there?

Much funner to be there when you have someone to root for, in turn half of them will want a Tee Shirt, Hat, c
Koozy, Sticker..ECT...
That in turn brings in money, That in turn brings in sponsors, that in turn brings in National notoriety which is all good for the sport and brings in more money for the riders.

For a sport that is as small nationally as moto / supercross is... you all sure complain a lot when someone comes around that can bring a lot more attention to it.

Say all you want about her skill / previous accomplishments... if she makes the night show, she deserves to be here, and it will be great for the sport, it's riders, and a making it feel less of a "boys sport" to all the younger girl bikers out there.

Its good for the sport because it will bring more attention, more viewers, more woman intrested and MORE MONEY you meat heads.

She didn't make it.

In a way she was slower than I thought she'd be with how some people where hyping it up, but at the same time I feel like she might be able to crack that top 40 at least once. I believe she plans on doing all 8 rounds, well 7 now. Supercross is pretty damn hard and it's even harder when you actually try to fast around the track.

I have nothing but respect for her, just wish people wouldn't blow this kind of thing out of proportion.

How many guys that go to a SX race, not coming from supported team, make the show in their 1st try? Nerves, media and not really knowing what SX is would be tough for anyone. I think it is cool to see anyone try to achieve. Maybe the hype was pumped up too much for her and those watching. Hope she learns, calms down and makes a show before the season ends.

There's no chance she could fly in under the radar. She's a woman trying to qualify for a Supercross race and that IS newsworthy. And what is she supposed to do, turn down all these interviews? I'm sure her sponsors would love that.

She wants to race. She qualified to be here under the rules that have been set up for everybody. She gave it her best shot tonight. Is there anything wrong with that?

A lady that works for the Indiana fever(womens pro basketball team) said the sometimes sell less than 500 tickets a game.
The league is a sham and it is subsidised by the nba as a diversity policy.
Pretty sad but I think womens pro softball would do better than any other womens sport.

The problem I see with women racing men is if they start making heats, how hard can you race them?

I was asked to fill in for a co-ed indoor soccer game, and there's no winning. They played 100%, but if you knock a girl down you're an ass.

Just think if Bowers punted Vicky off the track? This place would melt the hell down.

I have no problem otherwise.

She was not fast enough tonight - I think she missed it by about 3 seconds. She needs to go ride practice during the week with some of the guys making the night show. She has another 7 races to go get faster. Maybe Daytona might be her track?

Not trying to bash her, but her best time was 10 seconds slower that Marvins. She was 3 seconds off qualifying position. 3 seconds on a mid 50 second lap track is a lot. To put that into perspective, she'd finish Roughly one minute behind the final qualifier in a 20 lap race. One minute behind another person who has a very slim chance to even make the main....

I look at it the other way, 3 seconds a lap from making the night show wasnt bad at all.. and, she looked a lot better today then i've ever seen her ride... If she keeps improving i can see her making the night show this year, good for her...

Oh and, i would love to be only 10 seconds a lap slower than the big guns on a legit sx track....

i have not seen Courtney on a supercross track, even on what we call a SX track here in NZ, being fast on a MX track is one thing, but being fast on a SX track is another, and also Courtney's small size would be very hard to overcome for the whoops especially,
