He was penalized for irresponsible riding causing danger to other competitors. Not the crash! I agree taking people wide is part of racing, but the way that VR did it was not racing, it was trying to shut another rider down at what ever cost, in this case his own cost.

None of them mentioned any kicking/running into, they saw Rossi purposely taking MM wide because he got angry.
