No service here but respect you guys %100. Just watched a documentary on NAVY SEAL training which is in San Diego I think. Holy fuck those guys are gnarly. Any soldier is gnarly actually. Watch a ton of real-life combat vids online and you guys have some serious guts to do what you do. Cheers!

I wish they would go more into depth about the problems these guys/girls have after war and give some information about where people can donate/volunteer to help these kids.

I help host an event for the Wounded Warriors Foundation every year, and these organizations can always use a shout out.

I agree.
We get duplicates of enough terrible threads that a duplicate of a good thread like this is nice to see.

Both of my parents are AF and I plan to be next year. A tradition I don't mind following.

Thank you to all those that have served, are serving and will serve. We don't treat our veterans well enough which is a horrible commentary on our society, but that's another topic I suppose.

I did not serve, but only because they wouldnt allow me too. I was going through the recruitment process and was told I couldn't continue when they found out about the hardware in my knees/ankle. No limitations from my doctors, but that wasn't good enough for them.

Since then I've gone on to still "serve" as a career firefighter/paramedic.

Thank you veterans for giving us the freedom to decide our own destiny.

Have been retired now for 20+ years and just now starting to grow up which is no fun... Would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

21+ years Air Force, now retired. Great career and met some great friends along the way. Thanks to all others that have also served and also to the firefighters and police that keep us safe.
