7G?

Legendary?

WHAT?
10/24/2014 6:12am
Not saying the seller is actually being deceptive, but think about how easy it would be to say "Hmm, we STILL have this '07 CR125 on the floor. Let's put it back in a shipping crate, slap a cool story on it and see who bites"

Love the last line.. "These bikes are legendary"

Yea.. 30 years ago.. When it was an Elsinore..

I bet if you went to look at it today its mysteriously assembled and sitting on the showroom floor with dust in every crevice. That looks like a 8 year old pic

At the very least, I bet it's covered in mouse piss and has a bunch of shit in the airbox... I've had bikes sit in crates for two weeks and have that happen, much less 7 years haha

There's only one Honda dealer in Forest City (E&H Honda), but that doesn't look like their shop. Not sure if they have a warehouse somewhere. If it is the honda dealership, the guy that owns it is a pretty stand up guy.

Was that year CR125 any good?

the wrapping on the crate says "CR125R CR250R" ect. he didn't just have one of those laying around. Also notice the brown box where all the bolts are, he took the time to box everything back up and put a yellow band around it? Its a cool story, hard to believe that it was forgotten about for so long. They might want to look into a better inventory system

pretty sweet...

but i bought my '07 CRF450R in 2009 for $4500 (still in the crate).

i'm as big of a 2stroke nut as they get, but even that is ridiculous. hell, go buy a KTM 125, brand new for not much more than that.

It's cool and would be a neat story. But what do you do with it that justifies spending $7,000 on it? If you ride it, the novelty will basically be done the first time you ride it. If you let it sit, well, I guess I still don't get it. It's cool for sure. But I just don't think it's $7,000 cool.

That bike has never been out of the crate ! If you have ever been up to E&H Honda in Forest City, NC there's not much of an inventory system, Very small, locally owned dealership. The price is ridiculous, but the folks that own it are awesome people. I got every bike I ever owned through them up until I was 18 years old and switched to Yamaha's.

I would take it for $3199.00, the exact price of the one I almost bought back in 07 when I got my son a 07 CR85($2200.00 out the door). The 07 CR250 was $3799.00. There were a bunch of leftovers on Ebay for $3099.00 back in 2009.

I'll bet someone would cough up 5 grand for it pretty quick though....

Thanks for the reminder of how stupid bike prices have become. Sometimes I dislike you.....I prefer to live in my own little world and not think of such horrible things.

7 grand?.....oh hell no! Some poor sucker will pay it sooner or later though.

What I don't get is how do you "lose track of inventory"? I've been at two dealerships and understand the process of keeping track of all the machines. I would say it was something the owner decided to sit on but no owner would do that if it ever involved making money. Someone decided to hold it for future plans to make some big cash. Yes I'm one of the biggest 2T fans and Honda fan but I do agree that the money could be invested into an newer 2T and be much happier than to buy an end of days Honda 2T.

Hell, a brand new Yz250 or 125 for that matter is about $7k. You're going to pay the same amount for a 7 year old bike? Legendary.
10/24/2014 4:08pm
That dude is crazy! I wouldnt spend 7k on it even if it was a 250.think about it, should i buy 4 15 250sx and sell them for $12k in 6 years? It amazes on how stupid people are. Thats why i dont buy shit from any local dealers, half of them are crooks.
10/24/2014 4:13pm
Assanine. Sales manager should be fired for not knowing his inventory. So what are you supposed to do, buy it for7k and never ride it?
10/24/2014 4:29pm
My buddy bought a leftover 05 RM250 2 weeks ago, in crate for $3350.00 out the door...
10/24/2014 5:16pm
I dream of finding a 05 rm 250 leftover in a crate lol

I doubt that this ad has much at all to do with E&H Honda, they are a small old timey dealership with a modest sized building

Wonder how much it would be worth in 2057 if still in the same condition as today!

I just checked craigslist and the bike is listed two different times. One listing header says "CR125 dirt racer for sale" and the other listing says "CR125R Discovery". The guy selling barely knows anything in "dirt bike speak"
It's like a salesperson trying to sell you a new bike saying it has tires with bumps on them.
Anyway, I see some bait there, just not my flavor.

I think it would be something to buy and leave in the crate and put away. A friend of mine had a Honda 3 wheeler in the crate and a few years ago had it on eBay and if I remember right it was bid up near 45 grand.
