He could just get the holeshot and go off the side of the track and ride along the flat just fast enough to stay in front of the other guy. Then get back on for the last jump and throw a big back flip and take the checkers!. Tongue

Laughing This isn't the Nationals though. Will that fly?

I'd love to see him do it, I think a 250 smoker would do just fine though!

I think some of you will be surprised by his "results". Not hating, just look at the facts.

Dude hasn't raced professionally in how long? How many rhythm sections does he bang out a week, versus how many do Dungey, Roczen, Tomac, Stewart, etc.? Some of you act like he could come back to the Nationals or SX and still be a threat to win. (Protip: he couldn't).

500 or not, he won't be contending for the win.

I think you're not considering that this is a one off event that only requires about 45-seconds of attention per race with big jumps, big whoops and no corners. This race is right up TP's alley. He may not have raced pro sx or mx in a few years, but that doesn't mean he's stopped riding at a professional level. I think you may be the one "surprised" by his results.

I disagree.

(1) He is probably the most talented motorcycle rider ever, plus he's over 6 ft tall so no short legs issues through the whoops...

(2) He's on a bike with a monster motor, I can't imagine how much HP that thing has..

(3) He is stone crazy and fearless.

My only question is if he will try a backflip during his run...

I think he'll get owned but that's my opinion and we all get one. Like stated, he's been out for a lonnnnnng time. I'm sure he'll look good doing it, though.

Fair enough, I just don't see it happening. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

It makes absolutely no sence why some of these guys say he has no chance....it's a rythem section that is completely straight. Zero turns. And at a time maybe in the 45 second range. It's going to take throttle and mad skills style leaning back. He pretty much does that every time he throws a leg over a bike. You guys act like he quit riding dirt bikes when he hung up the pro boots.....

I THINK.....anyone that doubts Travis in an event like this.....on a 500cc 2 stroke........where it's just hammer down in a strait line........you would be nuts to discredit him.

Not sure if he'll win or not.....But I will bet anyone here that he beats some top name guys.....badly.

I'm excited to see him out there in any form of moto, but if last year was any indication it was more about the scrub than raw horsepower. I don't know how he stacks up against Stewart in that department.

Agree that the event is made for him though... 45 seconds to glory, WFO.

This is my buddies bike. He bought and brand new 2014 RMZ 450, never rode it, and had a CR500 motor put in it.

Its Red Bull Straight Rhythm dude...not a National or SX...jeesh. Arguably the most talented man to EVER sling a leg over a dirtbike.

If he stays healthy (that's the *if*) and focuses on this, he could very well, and I mean very well win this.

Hell he was winning the Baja 1000 on a DRZ400 before it swallowed a bunch of fesh fesh. People said he had no chance. People said he had no chance at Erzberg too....which he was leading before he got stuck for along time.

If he can lead these events for hrs....then doing 1 minute runs in a straight line is very attainable.Wink

I have been nervous for him every time I've seen him ride, dude has had way too many injuries.
Still exciting to watch though.
