I rode one a few months ago. I was fortunate enough to take a spin on the Factory Kawi. It was super fast, plush suspension...and then I woke up and realized I was still in my bed. Hell no I've never ridden a factory bike, haha.

Got lucky enough to race my brothers practice bike when he was riding outdoors for that Yamaha team in 2011, and also rode H&H's KX500AF. The yamaha actually wasn't that bad, maybe a little shaky upfront but I put that blame on my brother weighing about 50lbs more than I do. The power on the thing was unreal though, and it hooked up and had traction unlike anything I've rode before.

RC's 2003 Honda CR250 SX championship bike, for three glorious hours at his track in Tallahassee, then a few others here and there with the helmet cam. Yes, it was remarkable.

Rode a factory riders practice bike with factory suspension. Yes it was amazing. 3-4 seconds per lap faster I bet.

Yes...and it was all you would expect it to be. BUT...I was only a second at the most faster on it than my race bike. Those bikes are built specifically for that rider.

I did get laps on Dowd's 2000 KX 250. The motor had a full range from bottom to top that was excellent, but the forks were tad stiff for me.
I scored a brand new factory Suzuki RM 125 cylinder and pipe in 1997. That was by far the best 125 i've ever had! You could mess up the jump out of the gate a little and still get a holeshot.

This is the guy that could put together a factory ride "Charity"............... also, there was a Pro Circuit Factory bike floating around my area (Fort Dodge, Iowa) a few of the local guys I know had it for a while...I think it was Mike Brown's not sure...Funny thing, it ended up selling on eBay for like $1,350 from Stormlake Honda...I was bummed when I saw it sold....

The bike i raced at the start of the season is a 2011 Factory Husqvarna 449 supermoto, #4 of 5 built, lots of trick stuff, hand built frame , special forks and brakes that you cant buy ... not MX , i know , but its still trick as .

The closest I came was sitting on Marty Tripes RC250 after John Roeder claimed it at the Hangtown National,1979 if I remember correctly
He let Jerome Heiberger race it for a while, I was friendly with the Heiberger family and asked Jerome if I could take it for a spin and he said I could sit on it. My brush with a true factory bike.

Never ridden a full factory bike, but I did score a cylinder and head that trickled down from the YOT team in about 2000 for my YZ125. It was unreal how fast that bike was.

Lucky enough to race a Serco Yamaha (Australian MX2 Factory Yamaha) at a Vet round of the Nationals in Aus back in 2011 as one of their riders at the time (Ford Dale) was injured. Was pretty cool having him swing off the pit board for me Smile

Not 100% sure if it was a fully kitted race bike that day, but was certainly a sweet ride.



Also had the chance to ride Daniel McCoy's 2011 Suzuki RM-Z 250 that he raced during the 2011 Australian MX nationals at the Australian launch of the 2012 RM-Z's that was a cool bike with super short gearing.

Like Jabroni though, wish I was fast enough to really be able to see what a factory bike could do, no doubt I could feel the difference in the engine being a lot stronger off the bottom on both bikes.

I'd be too scared to twist it on and the suspension would be far too stiff because of said allergy to the throttle
