Though IF Villopoto and Cairoli raced there would have been two KTM's on either side of the podium with a Kawi in the middle
Now IF I raced the Nationals, nothing would change as I would not get close to qualifying.
IF you raced in the US, hey you probably do or did or could or could have in the past but I don't think it would have an effect on the results on the weekend, I I don't think you would kick ass, well unless there was a ass kicking booth at the track where you could pay a nominal fee to have someone bend over and you got to kick them in the ass.
Actually is that what you meant with your first post. When you asked if Cairoli would kick ass did you just mean he could literally walk up to people and kick them in the butt. I have no doubt at all he could do that, does not take to much to swing a leg high enough to kick someone in the ass.
So I guess what I am trying to say is if Cairoli was to race in the U.S he could kick ass and could also run at the front on track as well.

"You damned buggers, that aint no bloody quad. If any of you ninkapoops knew what real mx was, you'd know that that damn jump isn't a bloody quad! You morans wouldn't know your own nutsack from your tea bag."
He's awesome I know, but I think the factors above would have him in the 3-4 place range at series end , with some moto wins sprinkled in.
Pit Row
I'm a huge fan of the great champion but I've come to the realization he will likely never race in America. Europeans should be very thankful to have him and appreciate every time he's on a track. If he did ever decide to race stateside I'm sure he could secure a high dollar outdoor deal, especially with Decoster and Redbull KTM in his corner.
In my opinion he would have joined them, but as for 100% what would have happened, we will never know, Desalle seems to have Cairoli's pace of late, would love to see those two along with Van Horebeek, Herlings and Villopoto in the mix in the American MX Championship all in the big bike class. Throw Pourcel up in there as well and bring Jlaw back and for Mike Alessi to be on the line at his best.
If all those guys are on the line along with everyone else who raced on the weekend we have the series of all series
Good battles like last week end in Thunder Valley for sure, but the championship may be another step. He has so much experience over here, and he rarely over pushes him and his competition (he was as aggressive as RV in his early years). 7 MX titles already I believe, and he only missed 1 season while he was leading the championship over Rattray & Searle (knee injured at a start). Only CP took him 1 title.
Right now it may be his last seasons on his prime (who know he may ride until he is 35), so even when Herlings will start to beat him, it will just be the next generation, comparing apples to oranges, like when McGrath gave the batton to RC early 2000's.
That's what I thought.
IMO, (and it'll never happen)...TC222 would be RV's greatest competition ever in outdoor MX here. SX is another story...only because that's not something that Cairoli has much experience in.
If RV went to Europe to race the MXGP's...he'd be strong, but he wouldn't kill it like he does here. I think Villopoto would get schooled a bit, and would have some tough competition. And, I think Cairoli would beat him more times than not...at least his first year.
