I don't know how else she related my post on advice for kids to KTM people cheating, maybe you should be displacing your anger on her. Or SlowOldGuy (who said he wrote it). Or that pretty tree outside. My post said nothing about who does or doesn't cheat. I love my kids more than anything in the world and I wish they would win every race, baseball game, basketball game or any competition but I refuse to cheat for them.

Do you see how she missed my point?

I'll go away now and just tune in to your wisdom now and then and hopefully I'll be around to see number 10,000. You rock!

I went through the 50cc pee wee class from the PW50's thru the A class with my son ('93-'07). Spent a LOT of time around the Alessi family at the races and can tell you that for all you "Alessi Haters" that Mike Alessi was the FASTEST/ most talented Pee Wee rider I've ever seen. He's been torn down more than anyone in history and don't think he was ever found guilty of cheating. He was one of the smallest riders with the biggest set of balls. To be clear... I'm NOT a Alessi nut hugger, just stating facts. He's obviously been raised to be a MX racer and hasn't had an education. His actions on the track, as an adult, show his lack of respect of others and lack of good decision making. I honestly feel bad for him, once the MX/SX career is over, he's going to have a SERIOUS reality check. The money he's made is gone, from what I've heard, Tony left his career as a trash man to be at Mikes side, he's going to be in a bad place too....

Cheating has been going on for many years and it will continue. I bet at least 50% of the riders in that class had something illegal on their bike. FLAME ON....

Unfortunately MX isn't the only place this happens and it hurts all the kids, the ones whose parents are cheating and the ones with honest parents. Not only by results but other things. My case in point. My youngest (7th grade) loves basketball and works hard at it. He goes to a small school that just so happens to have 3 kids that are really good in the same class. They've only lost 3 games in 3 years. The biggest reason is our best player. He's 6'1", he's smart, he's a great player and an even greater kid but I've overheard on several occasions things like "how many years did he flunk?" and "let's see his birth certificate". Can you imagine if he heard these things? But that kind of stuff goes on so in a way I don't blame people for being suspicious.

Come back to the next race on a legal bike, or with some other trick up his sleeve.

Cheating only sucks when nobody is policing it (thus the reason I think AMA Pro Racing is such a joke).

But if there is someone policing it, and people are getting caught, then what is the fuss? Are we really going to crucify Deegan for being a dad who is hyper competitive and wants the best for his kid? Deegan is no different than any other dad on that line.

Show me a pro that claims to have made it thru their entire career without "cheating" at least once and I'll show you a liar. Anyone that has found a trick advantage, will do it if they think they will get away with it. And if youre not one of those people and you cannot relate, then this discussion is not for you. Youre not on the level of "competitive" Im referencing.

Why? So that people cheat more? Surely any deterrent is a good deterrent? There's a difference between finding and exploiting a loophole and straight-up breaking the rules. There absolutely should be a huge negative stigma with cheating. If people think it's a shit thing to do (which it is) they won't do it.
