He's spinning the tire up a lot. His strength is to be able to ride the corners hard but he hasn't been able to get any traction off the rear wheel all season. I noticed it too when I was watching his GoPro footage from A1.
Fro and RC on the broadcast noted that his front end might not be quite figured out yet, and it's only the second race, on a slippery track.
But really, I think the traction overall is just fine--the guy logged a 50 second lap time (the fastest of the night?) later in the race and ran down TC with the same intensity that he's always brought.
Funny how the bike excuse is ok for him.

RV and Reedy looked so damn good on last years bikes, coming back from injuries or not, go back to the old setup!
I think he would ride a different race up front, he just can't seem to get there.
Maybe part of he deal is that they have to race with current tech to help the factory further the brand?
Nothing's wrong.
His starts are his issue this year. If he gets a holeshot he will checkout faster then a kid trying to buy condoms.

I'd say they should go back to the old suspension and continue to progress the new suspension until it's ready for race day.
But is the fork really the issue? He was able to throw down some FAST laps with the same suspension. I think it was just a minor rider error.
Either way, funny stuff.
weight of the air forks has thrown off all the previous race settings. You probably can
only do so much in testing to adapt to the changes but it'll take race time to really work
out the differences.
