You guys are all puttin' the pussy on a pedestal. Seriously...

A lot of top NASCAR drivers race at local tracks every week and easily take away the $500 to win from a local racer who could actually use it. It doesn't seem to deter them from racing any. In fact I think they enjoy the added competition, and a chance to see how they measure up to a professional driver. I don't see any difference between that and ex pro's racing Loretta's...
never put the pussy on a pedestal!!!!

you only get fast when you ride or race with fast guys

Martin beat him, so he got second. Second qualifies you for the regionals easily. I think they take 8. Regionals take 8.

Because it's Ricky F-ing Carmichael!

Didnt Emig race Loretta's after he retired? I dont see a problem with them racing, especially the vet class.

Richard sounded sincere when he said "I just wanted to do Loretta's for once in my life with no pressure." with that being said, let the man live and race his damn dirtbike.

I'd like to see him race the 450 pro sport class ans see how he does against the up and comers. Racing against guys that were lappers when he was winning, isn't very entertaining IMO.

At the area qualifier, RC went DNF-4 for 11th overall in the Pro Sport class. He did not get accepted as an alternate this weekend at Mill Creek. He only qualified for the ranch in the 25+ class.

Damn are there a lot of whiners here. You make it sound like Ricky is breaking the rules? If you don't like it don't hate on Ricky.....hate on the game....

Man's doing it because he wants to ride his dirtbike without pressure...not because it's entertaining for anyone else. Can't we please just let the man enjoy himself? hasn't he earned that?

Everyone knows he is just prepping for his 2013 Hart & Huntington Suzuki ride.

I don't see it as a 25 year old racer looking to make it big after a good finish LL. I see it as this is the high point of a 25 year olds career. This is as good as its going to get for him, having RC sandbag the class is silly. And no anyone who says getting passed by RC is a good thing is wrong. Would you rather win a LL Title, or come in second to anyone? If you would rather come in second, you are not a racer.

So when RC is 55 years old should he still only be allowed to race the Pro Sport class against the up and comers?

At what age do you clowns think it becomes acceptable for an ex pro to race the age classes? Obviously not when they have reached that age.

Really? Because if I want to disqualify everyone that can beat me I am a "racer" then? Awesome! Go speed racer go!

Regionals takes 6 and like previously stated, he didn't even qualify for the Regional in Pro Sport.

With all due respect, your argument is ridiculous. RC isn't breaking any rules and he is racing for the same reason anyone else is racing, just like a TON of ex pros go back to LL to do-race for the reason they started to race. Are all of these guys not welcome then? Dubach, Reynard, Emig, Stiles, and the list goes on. What about the world vet championships at glen helen? The world 2 stroke championships? Are these guys taking away from someone's glory at these races too? I assume when you try and then qualify for LL then you have to be prepared to race anyone who qualifies in your class under the rules. That is racing, no?

From MX Sports rule book. According to this the GOAT is good to go. If you don't like it, call and bitch and moan. I am sure you will have to wait in line behind all the mini Dad's.

1. The following professional licensed riders are eligible to compete in the Open Pro Sport class only:

a. Riders earning 1-25 Pro Motocross points (250 or 450 class), or Supercross (Lites or SX class) in either the current or previous year;

b. Riders qualifying for the final 40 in either Pro Motocross (250 or 450 class) or Supercross (Lites or SX class) in the current or previous year; or

c. Riders qualifying for the final 40 in an FIM MX1, MX2, MX3 Grand Prix event in the previous year.

Professional licensed racers that have not qualified for the final 40 in either Pro Motocross or Supercross in the current or previous year, or who have not qualified for the final 40 in an FIM MX1, MX2, MX3 Grand Prix event in the previous year, are eligible for all classes as per AMA eligibility requirements.

The poor guy banking on a 25+ class trip to lorrettas will just have to wait until he's 30 to live his dream because that is B/C only.
