WSX is a side-show to a side-show IMO. It's a small step above Arenacross. It won't last.

If you are taking SX to places it doesnt usually go, in stadiums it doesnt normally go to , then it has a place at the table,

If Roczen isnt in it, its a better show IMO, thank god Freise made him work for it, Versatchy pretty much waved him through.

Anstie was decent, Deano was great too, just because you have all the SX , you think nobody else can try.

Its more relevant than all the ball sports only you play, so can be the best in the world.

It does not exist without the Saudi sports washing money.  I see it as a complete money grab by the guys who started it and if it ends after 5 years I don’t think they’ll care with the money they jammed in their pockets from it.

didn't Filthy Phill make like 7k for finishing 6th place or something? he mentioned it on Pulp awhile back that he can make the same money for finishing mid pack then he could being on the podium in an AMA race.

I’d think the good guys like hill could make more at the nationals but the real factor is that the WSX is easy money.  Not necessarily more money.  The real truth is you have to ride your ass off outdoors and train hard to do well.  These guys prefer a free vacation overseas in which they get to race motorcycles around and finish wherever they finish and collect some money doing so.  Frankly it sickens me that 75% of these guys don’t have the passion to be outdoors in that atmosphere grinding out motos like so many before them have.

I have no idea how much anyone is making including Joey, it’s not my business. I’m just figuring that the riders want to go where they can make the most money for the risk that they take. And supercross in the summer is probably not fun.

KR looked very agressive. In US SX it always looked to me that he doesnt like to ride that close to other riders.. Here he was fighting for the number 1 spot

Everybody talking about the B-league, but that's some top notch talent there. There are a bunch of legit podium (and winning) guys there.

The final round of the 2025 WSX series will be held in Cape Town, South Africa. We are about to buy tickets but I'm wondering about paying an extra 550 to be able to do a pit walk...

I've been to countless SX events in the US and have seen it all before. With being the WSX series, there will be no Semi rigs  with their awnings, IM clueless as what the pits will look like.

Anyone here been to a WSX event? What do the pits look like? I'm trying to justify spending extra money on a pit walk. Most of my mates that I'm taking have never seen SX. I'm also bringing three Malawian dudes who I work with. This will be their first time checking (any type) of racing out. They have no idea what it is all about, I'll load them up and bring them to the stadium.

Thank s guys

This perfectly sums up Justin Hill's entire approach to racing.

I don’t know who’s racing what rounds, but this year already has Tomac, Roczen, Webb and Vialle signed up. Considering international moto fans don’t normally get to see SX riders of that calibre race in person, what’s not to like?

Thanks for the recap Mav,

Stark has confirmed Hicks and Zaragoza, just no word on SX1 or SX2 yet, I guess it depends on who will be their other 2 riders.

Just a guess, but I'll say Friese and Bogle.

Don't think Bogle is a Stark rider anymore, it looks like he retired for good.

Friese and Hicks as teammates would be interesting after the AMA AX season they've had. They sure got to know each other quite closely.

It would be cool to have the top 4 AMA AX riders, with the small twist of having Hicks (and maybe Friese?) on the Varg.

Interesting, on Pulp Kenny says he's only in for two rounds actually, Australian and Canadian GP like Tomac. So also just a wildcard this year basically

Lewis saying Vialle will be racing the entire series next year. Thats a smart move and proof that WSX is a good thing. In the old days, he'd be back in MXGPs watching his SX craft die. Now who knows.

That says something about the way Honda looks at WSX now...

I never got the guys that thought it was a bad thing. If you're a fan of racing how can you hate on more races and the athletes making more money.

I wonder if hrc is going to be worried about their investment getting injured in sx because theyre paying him for mxgp. I want to see more gp riders start riding wsx so its not just US riders needed to keep it alive, but I could see the brands being worried about their riders getting injured in an off season series. I hope not. Sx is not seen as an integral part of the european motocross racing circuit the way it is in the us. Hopefully that changes though.

Thought I heard somewhere they wanted to run summer races next year. If it interferes with he AMA National of MXGP schedule and pulls riders from those series I'll go right back to being a hater.

The only way to have big names behind the WSX gates is to have a "logical" calendar. Like this year, between October and December. There's no room for anything else. Let's hope the new WSX's promoter has already understood that...
