He was released / contract terminated from AEO last year and when I stopped by the BarX truck this weekend, I was told he’s been let go from their team now.
I’ve been rooting for this dude to get things turned around and to get his career on track to his potential, but this is a pretty big blow. Not sure what would help him at this point.
Dude this guy is killing me! The one kid I wanted to make it big in this sport so bad. He has all the speed and talent and none of the drive and dedication. Drives me nuts!
I really like Jerry, but iMHO training Ty in Texas by himself just doesn’t seem to work.
Ty should be training where the other fast guys are- either in California or Florida, he can’t just roll around his ranch with the local Texas pro guys to gauge his fitness and speed on the supercross track.
Ty wasn’t even close to top 15 speed at the first two rounds, and didn’t look very strong.
I know he as sick with the flu. But his speed was just not there.
I was under the impression that he got fired for some reason. Maybe he did quit the team.
I remember we were at a race and his dad didn’t like something the track owner did. He told all of the riders that train at his place not to race. If they did, then they weren’t welcome back to train with him. 🤷🏻♂️

Been a huge fan since his early days in the 250 class on star, pulling holeys and leading laps as a 3 digit kid. Still see glimpse of speed here and there during outdoor races but bummer to see his decline over the last few years with good teams.
Think he'd be a good fit at Club MX. Based at their compound around good riders and people. Plus with their vlog (whatever you want to call it), there's a lot of transparency so you get to see what's going on - perhaps we'd get insight as to why he's always losing contracts/ parting ways with teams. His holeshot at Red Bud a few years back, is still one of the coolest things we've seen in the sport and I hope he's able to get back on a good team.. Maybe he can plea with Mitch for a bike?

He’s making it seem like he’s not a good fit anywhere.
Maybe it's time to move on. He seems unwilling or unable to do what it takes to succeed on the American circuit, and this sport is too dangerous to half-ass it.

this kid has talent but him not being serious and his old man are ruining his career. Dont expect him to get many or any more chances. Sure club would be great but no way his old man would let him go there.
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MX industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MX t-shirt.
Ask his dad
Heard he quit showing up.
I hadn’t heard this and I follow that team pretty close. I was wondering why he wasn’t at A2. Hopefully we hear more details.
His dad is his biggest problem.

Hasn’t he parted ways with a few teams now? AEO and one other?
Seems like he has potential but can’t reign it in.

It's really sad and was rooting for him. Especially after what happened to Jesse.
Didn’t he burn a bridge before the AEO deal? Backed out super late and switched if I recall then joined AEO
maybe he got arrested in mexico at hong kong again

Porque?
Both AEO and BarX have shown solid rider loyalty the past few years, so you know this is rider specific that it keeps happening.
Wasn't he a Star Yamaha prodigy?

His Dad is clearly a twat.

Was just curious what did it in this time.
Maybe he got released from Bar X, hoping Mitch will be calling.
Heard the same thing also
Why would mitch want a guy that can't make the mains?
What's the back story with his dad?
Quit showing up where?
And getting arrested in Mexico!?!?

I don't know Jerry at all. So I can't say.
