Is it just me? Am I getting old? Or has Thor been missing the mark on kit for years now?

It seems as though there hasn’t been good looking Thor gear since 05 06. Who’s buying it??

I've been really disappointed in their stuff, too. I wore Thor back in '00-'03 and really liked it. Now it seems like they have lost their way.

I had a set in 2007 that was amazing on all fronts; looks, quality, etc were all good. My most recent (2021) set of Thor was the worst set of gear I have ever owned. The quality seems to have declined severely.

I have since switched to FXR and it is the best set of gear I have ever owned.

It has sort of felt like the whole LeMans/Parts Unlimited universe has had a different vibe after the Fred and Jeff Fox generations exited.

I thought Webb's kit looked great at A1.

seems like for the last 13 years Thor has been pretty good about having 1 awesome "kit" a year, and then everything else is too wild or too boring.

Ideas like mixing yellow with high viz yellow shows some people need new jobs

I liked the Prime Rival gear from last year in the blue/white and midnight colors. I think some different color options would have bene better, the red was okay.

Jordan Smith looked like Ronald McDonald in San Fran in the all red/yellow colorway.

Yup.. best years was 2002-2006. And then 2017 Thor Rohl gear was pretty good, but kind of taking after Seven's gear with the different jersey color to pants color. Some of the 2008 gear was cool too.

I feel like so many current gear brands have missed the mark. It feels like everyone is trying so hard to make "sick" gear and it turns out as a total mess. I miss clean lines and designs, and colors to match every bike manufacturer, nothing crazy. I feel the same way about Fox - they used to make gear that looked amazing, but the current stuff is just plain ugly in my opinion.

I used to wear Thor in 2005-2007 and I loved the way the gear looked back then.

2017 Rohl combo still looks good. I remember I bought 3 jerseys at the time because I knew it was going to age well.

The 2005 half red and half white gear was awesome.

The Blue paisley gear Reed wore was sick and also the white Paisley version.

If they came out with a modern version of the bandanna gear, I'd be a buyer for sure.  Also the Villopoto Thor stuff was always sweet.

It seems like their size chart is way off and quality is down significantly

Hell, I feel lost whenever I hear to riding gear referred to as a "kit".

Luke's English I think? It's pretty standard here. Gear sounded a little weird to me years ago, but it sounds totally normal now.

I's just the old hood/bonnet type thing I guess, no big deal 👍

Matter at hand, Thor's percentage of decent looking offerings has definitely, definitely taken a dive. That Wolf crap they kept having Ferrandis last year was horrific, ironically it was a Wolfsport level atrocity.

Yah, I was really disappointed with the 2024 release and them leaving the Pulse stuff the same as 2023.  They have those 3 kits coming soon in Prime . The one Star had in the blue and yellow. And the one Webb wore in 2 colors. And really, I've sold more of the Prime and Sector from the 2023 designs. So I can see why they held the Pulse for another year. They must have a bunch of it still.  I've been selling it for a couple years. The 22 stuff sold well, 23 decent , but not as much demand for the 24 stuff so far. And customers have been asking me to stock more brands.

I really wish that Parts Unlimited would carry the Alpinestars pants and Jerseys in the US like they do in Canada and Europe.   My PU rep is great. And all of the people I have dealt with there have been awesome too. I've sold a decent amount of gear for a smaller shop. But I'm still a relatively smaller account for them. We work with many other smaller places and brand direct . And PU has been  the best . Other than some software and website  issues that they have mostly fixed now.

When I first started out another shop called up and told some  distributors to drop me or they would not buy from them anymore. One of my Reps told me, and then told me that my shop bought more from them than that shop did anyway. Maybe that is why I had a bad experience with WPS back then.  I like most of the Alpinestars gear these days, and think its overall one of the best looking brands right now. And the Fly stuff  looks great this year . Much improved from last year.

What brands do You guys think are some of the best looking, fitting, and quality, durability? For Moto. My customers have had decent luck with the gear I've sold them. I want to stick with higher quality brands that I can stand behind and not have to replace stuff or deal with gear wearing out too quickly. It seems like all of the higher end gear is so thin that it blows apart pretty easy compared to mid end stuff.

Lets hope they have something good for us in a few days. I am an avid Thor guy, I have a bunch random sets of gear from 2006 - 2017. Most of them are the Spring Releases. Haven't liked anything since....

Webb wore one of the Spring releases and Star wore another of them at A1. The one Webb wore is coming in 2 colors. The one here wore and a black/grey/red/orange version.  As far as I know those are all of them. I hope they surprise us.  There is a new under protector and new version sentinel chest protector that looks the same as the most recent release. image-20240118171150-1

I think he is referring to the size of it, the 05-10 thor gear, while being awesome looking, was super baggy

I hope they have that one too.  As far as the official info from THor. They said that Factory riders would debut the gear starting at A1 and then the gear would be available for dealers to order on the 22nd of this month. Maybe they will have some more new stuff this weekend? The pics I posted above are the only colorways  confirmed to be available in the spring 24 lineup.

It's clean. That's what I like in gear, I don't like kittens and crazy colors.
