This kid has progressed really well in 1 year. If he keeps progressing at the speed he’s currently on, I’ll be excited to watch this kid race Supercross in 4-5 years. Looked really good at Stewart’s Compound.
if he inherited dad's whoop speed ..............he's well on the way!
Tate has progressed a ton, but I think Pace will be the future Reed to watch if he ever decides to put his heart into it. He has really natural body positioning on the bike.
Looks good for sure.
Id be surprised if he can make it this late in the game though. Saw a 9 year old on a 65 a couple months ago at the track beating him.
although, with the right resources anything is possible I guess. And I’m sure he’s got the right genes lol
i know hes young but he clearly doesn’t ride as much as Tate and their daughter Kiah.

According to Ellie's Instagram, he "retires" and "un-retires" every few months.
Who Chad?
I really enjoy watching the videos of the Reeds. Tate seems to have got a late start comparing him to other mini riders.
Tait. He has the creativity to go far
I was talking about Pace, their youngest. Kid has a ton of natural talent, but he's not really committed to riding.
Just listened to Jade Dungey on Pulp and never realized that their younger brother Blake was actually the best rider out of the three of them but didn’t really want to do the work required to go to the next level. Some people can be so naturally gifted on a bike but just not have the passion for it.
I remember Chad saying that Tate has decided to have a real go at going pro, looks like he's progressed A LOT since then.
I wonder if Pace will ever want to do it, things came to him a lot easier than it did for Tate.
Wow! I haven't watched their videos in a while. He is getting good!!!
I've been following the kids ever since they switched from BMX to moto, and it's amazing how far Tate has come in such a short time. Having a multi-time champ as you dad/coach doesn't hurt, but still, you gotta have the natural ability and the willingness to twist the throttle and Tate has both. It's been really fun watching them get progressively faster over the last couple of years.
And yeah, Chad has said that if the light ever came on for Pace, he'd be the one to watch out for.
Love the vlogs. Watching Chad coach and breaking down techniques and tracks is fabulous, plus the insight into the industry you only get from Chad and Ellie’s perspective. Tate has his work cut out for him. Racing against kids that have been all in for 8 years already. Wish them the best
I’m 50/50 on the vlogs as previously it was a lot of watching amateur kids ride around which wasn’t great viewing but with the improvement Tate has made its super fun to watch him now, especially when you get to hear the tips Chad gives that you can use in your own riding.
Be interesting to see where they’re at in a few years.
My son and I watch them, much for the interaction between Chad and Tate. I point out the lack of eye rolls and ughhh sounds from Tate, when Chad speaks to him. I then get and eye roll and an ughh sound from my son. Guess I don't have the pedigree that Chad has lol
Yeah but is it really a bad thing to have a late start? Yes they may be faster at the same age now but if they’ve been reinforcing bad habits over their mini years while tate has less but better experience/habits it could lead to a dramatic shift in speed in a couple years. Be interesting to see how it plays out.
First Aus sx race is tomorrow
Pit Row
That would be pretty cool if he even got to fast amateur level. Their daughter looks pretty fast now too and tall they oughta get her in the woods, that's where the money is for women in this sport.
Robbie Wageman was that way as a kid and look where he is now. Pace is a funny kid that marches to the beat of his own drum lol. It will be interesting to see what he decides to do as he gets older.
The way ppl are talking about pace reminds me a lot of hudson deegan. He messes around with racing here n there but doesnt seem to be too serious about it. I wonder if its ever going to click and we see him go all in or if hes just cool with doing something else. I know hes just a kid but damn if I was in his shoes Id be going for broke.
I have been following the Reeds lately on social media. I have been feeling like Tate is way behind the top amateurs in the country. I will be impressed if Chad turns Tate into a future Supercross contender. They talk like that’s their plan.
After seeing these comments about how good Tate is. Maybe I am delusional and ignorant to his results.
Malcolm Stewart was the same way
Tate's speed has improved quite a bit lately and I will agree that he is not top amateur speed yet. But with that said, his technique is what has really improved a hell of a lot and I have a feeling that is Chad's number one focus right now and knows the speed will come later. In my opinion, Tate really looks like a mini version of Chad when riding. Speed will come.
I have no doubt that Tate can make it as a pro if he wants to. I mean who else has the resources that he has? Chad knows what he is doing. Also, the notion that you have to start racing at like age 4 to "make it" is so over blown. Too many kids get burned out.
It still blows my mind that 22 and 7 are so cool now that JS7 said hey, build a track at my place and you and your family can practice here.
So cool to see!
Did you watch the Bubba’s World podcast with Chad? There was a segment where Chad was talking about working with Big James on the track for Tate, and he told JS7, “it’s no wonder we fought like brothers, we were basically raised by the same father.” It seems pretty evident that they actually have more in common than they do different.
Aden Keefer is one of the top amateurs at the moment and he started taking it seriously at around 13-14. Prior to that he was slightly better than a beginner 85 rider
I hate to be a dick...but that comparison is not even relatively close. Like not even in the same universe.
Malcom was a fairly "unserious" amateur and still managed to be at LL every year and do relatively well. Tate has never even made LL or even come close. He gets beat by local kids who don't even race seriously. If he was not chad reeds kid, he would just be another kid at the track you wouldn't even look twice.
Idk you'd be surprised. Look at Aden Keefer. Not saying he's the next stew, but the kid had little to no interest in riding and wasn't very fast on mini's. He decided to take it serious when he got on 125's and the kid is absolutely Ripping in the 250B class. Being at Lorettas on PW50's isn't the only plan that works.
