P9 overall at Southwick

P8 overall at Redbud

Beat a few very established guys. Would be good to see if anyone threw a piece of paper in front of him and said "sign here" after that.

He rode great but what team is going to sign him? His best bet is to stick with Yuriv and do a mix of AU and US stuff.

Without the first moto crashes at both rounds it could have been even better, but I think Webster has got to be happy with that. Job done well, home to take out the Aussie title now.

Showed front of pack pace for a decent amount of time in that 2nd moto. We can work with speed!

Great ride for the young man and good luck coming to America. The difference between running up front and the back end of top 10 is night and day. Big fan of Mookie and Craig but they are nowhere close.

Can't ride SX (per his own admission in an interview) so there's that.  Great rides though.

When Weege said the guys up the tree with the flag must be Hunter fans it confirmed how under the radar Webster is (was after that ride).

I have to admit, when you guys were first talking about him racing in the states, I was a bit skeptical, because Jay Wilson wasn't really impressive last summer on a Star bike, so I didn't think Webster would be able to do much on a Firepower bike. I'll happily eat crow on that, he's been doing great these past couple of races. Is he finishing out the season, or will he head home soon?

Kyle rode great last week at Southwick, he was in a first turn crash at the start of the first moto and came from way back in about last place to 17th and finished 7th in the second moto for 10th overall.image-20240707005436-1

Thats was a great ride, props to him.

I couldn’t help but chuckle inside everyone they said Webster. Not sure why, but it just sounded funny, like a nickname or something I dunno. But yes big ups to him that was a good showing, might be good enough to get him on the AuS Mxdn team.

That’s because Weege didn’t see him running in 7th all moto last week.

That is true; the fact a visiting international rider (the country of origin doesn’t matter), that’s never raced AMA before, can turn up and run in 6-7th for an entire moto without a single mention from the commentary team, demonstrates yet again that they’re not really calling the race in front of them.

I think it was either Thunder Valley or High Point where they followed Harri Kullas around in 15th for almost a full lap, but Webster doesn’t even get a mention until he runs up front for a bit. Strange.

Kyle Webster has got the attention of various teams with his  P9 and P8 overalls.

Having SX skills is key to securing a good ride in the USA so he needs to keep doing what he is doing and just maybe someone offers him a outdoor only deal. I think he could really put solid results if he was a regular in the series.

I stand to be corrected but at 26 his time is running out.

Nevertheless, he has been fucking impressive to put it mildly.

He is leading the Australian series, so going back to finish that season.

Yeah kinda of impressive. Yrs ago you could get a top 3 in sx or nationals & not get signed. Our Wi. Riders almost got in and they don’t hardly ride much. I could see if he lead 7 laps then had bike issues

That's because Jay Wilson is nowhere near Webster's level. Before Wilson left for Japan, I don't think he had ever raced a 450 in Australia and he was maybe the 5th best guy on a 250 here. Webster on the other hand in my opinion has been the fastest (not necessarily the best, and not the fastest all the time, but he had the highest speed potential of the field) 450 rider since he moved up to it in 2022, but he's taken a big step this year with his consistency and is probably the best rider in the Australian series at the moment.

I think Webster is much faster than he showed, but the motocross tracks in the AMA series are much different to the Australian series, I'd even say the difference between AMA and Australian tracks is much, much bigger than the difference between European and AMA tracks.

I hope Webster can land a ride in the GPs for next year, it's tough for Australian riders to get rides overseas since they're so far away and teams usually only look at the top riders in the series, but it's so hard to improve when you're already at the top.

Also as has been mentioned already, Webster is leading the points in the Australian motocross series so he will be heading back to compete in that

That was a nice ride yesterday but let’s not forget there are 5 riders currently out that would have been in front of him, putting him back to 12th or so.  It’s a pretty depleted field.  Still a nice ride though and he beat a few factory riders.

He rode well but lets be honest, the 450 class only has about 10 factory riders who are descent and a few of them are injured. He would struggle to be top 15 in the 250 class which is far deeper
