If it wasn’t for Jett stealing the limelight would we be talking up hunter a lot more? When was the last time someone dominated the way he is? Yes I understand he hasn’t won a championship but he pushed craig hard last year if it wasn’t for that one dnf he could have won it and him jett and shimoda were way ahead of everyone outdoors. I mean sure hunter a gets little bit of credit but I think everyone under rates how dominate he is over the field.
Hunter is hauling ass, looking every bit as solid as his brother. East/West shootouts will be good.
I don't think Hunter is underrated. He was everyone's title favourite this year for East SX, and he's a lot of people's favourite for outdoors.
Not underrated, just taken a few years to live up to his potential. Just gotta be more consistent throughout the entire outdoors season now and he'll be the full package.
Imagine the bitching if he stays 250 next year.

He already said if he wins he'll defend the title.
Agreed, he looks better this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he runs away with the outdoor title.
Today was a methodological win.
He'll be 250sx, 450 outdoors in 2024, fore sure!
I dont think there will be any runaway with the outdoor title chase this year.
He's finally on the trajectory he was on before the injuries and health issues, this guy gave it to a very good AC9 in outdoors I think it was 2018?
Watching the past few races I'd say Hunter is on par with Jett currently maybe slightly above (just what the eyes are telling me), the east west combine should be fun.
Yes that is Honda’s plan for Hunter. I get the impression that if it was up to him alone, he wouldn’t be 250 next year though.
He’s overrated. Who is he “dominating” over?
A one-kneed Thrasher the cartwheel specialist Smith.
17 year olds.
J mart who’s just cruising through.
semi-retired Blose.
Savage Jesus.
And don’t forget his biggest title threat, 30 year old Max Anstie, who was about a 15th place guy in 450 SX.
But yeh woooooow can you believe how good he looks?!?!? Let’s get Jett in the booth again next week so we can hear about golf and how bad the other riders techniques are compared to the SPECTACULAR Hunter Lawrence….OMFG can you believe how he just passed former MXoN winner max anstie?!??!? It’s like he just let him by!!!!!!!
Who will be left to run the pace with him outdoors? Shimoda, but I think Hunter has him covered. Jett will be on a 450. Maybe Thrasher's knee will be strong enough, but I don't know if he'll be consistent. Is Cooper staying 450?
I cant pronounce that
Vialle, Justin Cooper, JMart, Shimoda, RJ Hampshire, and Max Vohland will fight for podiums and wins. I think Kitchen, Hammaker, Hymas, and Deegan could surprise. Hunter is not a shoo in, the East region in SX is weak. And Hunter's aggressive riding is making some enemies.
Cooper only select 450’s sx. Outdoors going for 250 title. Vialle will be strong outdoors one would think.
Hunter gets rated higher simply by being Jett’s brother, so underrated? No. 5 year OLDER brother by the way.
Hmmmm…..Vialle? Cooper? Shimoda? Guess we will find out.
Pit Row
Look over at the 450's as well for evidence of domination.
Hunter's 45.463 lap was FTD across both classes.
Or perhaps a methodical win! 😁
On which on his last lap on the track it was as trashed as the 450’s first lap.
I don't need to go as hard as you but I agree. He's almost 24 racing regional sx. He should dominate. Come back to me if he dominates outdoors. I don't see it though with Cooper and Jo out there
It's an interesting question for sure. He has showed the speed and clearly belongs at the front. I think Jett is clearly a step higher and not sure if that helps or hurts Hunter. Outdoors this year will show what he can do and if he can win that title he will be elevated especially if he does take this SX title.
He’s been here for 4-5 years and he’s finally beating the likes of Max Anstie, no, he not underrated at all.
Good! After what Anstie said the other day, I hope Hunter rides the gravy train as long as he can! Who in their right mind would take a massive pay cut just to appease some goons on Vital. Follow the money. If the sports wants the best racing the best, the sport better start paying better.
At least Jett has legit competition. Mcadoo and RJ would be in the title fight if they did East
Well I looked this morning and after last night if I counted correctly Hunter now has 26 starts and 9 wins and Jett has 27 starts and 10 wins. And Hunter beat jett at the last Showdown they were together in. Considering how slow Hunter started in SX with injuries I’d call them just about dead even, Jett may be more flashy or have more speed in the tank but numbers wise they’re practically clones. They always say how much Jett holds back but then throw in the two are the same speed on practice days?
I’d say no. Let’s not forget he had great speed his first year in America. Injuries just killed him. He’s finally riding to the potential we saw when he was in GPs on the Suzuki.
2 totally different career positions. Hunter won't take a pay cut in 450's if he's a top 3-5 contender.
You realize how long those guys have been in the class with minimal success?
