Seems to me he's the up and coming take-out master to replace Barcia....

Started with Shimoda @ Pala.

The Hunter brothers have raced 4 sx races against each other.

Jetts finished infront 3 times hunter 1.

Jett crashed in that Atlanta race. Look at his fastest lap time.

I guess everyone was ok with him cutting in front of Degan before the finish line.

Oh come on, lol. Thrasher was way more aggressive with his defensive move in the sand than Hunter was with his last-corner pass, which was pretty tame given it was to take the win.

That pass on Shimoda last year was dirty though, no arguing that.

I liked Haiden's look behind after that little racecraft lesson from Hunter.

I hope we get a battle, but I imagine it will come down to who gets a start at the east/west, barring a crash or an off night. Jett seems to have more speed than Hunter historically but not enough to run him down from the back if Hunter gets out front (and vice versa). Plus cutting through the pack at the East/West rounds won't be as easy as a typical 250 race.

To be clear...I have no problem with contact...in fact I like it.  I'm a Barcia fan after all.       I'm just saying, Hunter has the "take out" thing down pretty good.

I love being labeled a "hater" for stating some truth..   Grinning   It's amazing how fragile some people are today.

I'm confused, are you saying Hunter's pass on Thrasher was a "take out"? Or are you talking about something else?

Yeah! Hunter tried to take out Mosiman a few laps prior to taking him high.

Smashes Moiesman, then takes Deegan's line and then takes Mosiman high.

Pretty aggressive! But I like it. Others need to get on it or they are just racing for 2nd place.

IMO, there was nothing wrong with either passes.

Hunter in the press conference:

Lawrence said: “All I can remember is I was behind Michael, and I was definitely faster. I felt like I was being pretty respectful and pretty nice and giving him his room, and then he’d done something similar earlier in practice today where I was kind of like, “What are you doing?” Then I was like, “Alright, so now I’m going to have to pass him and force the pass.” I’m not trying to clean anyone out for, what was that position, fifth or sixth? It makes no sense. So, obviously didn’t really want to put him on the ground. I didn’t mean to, by any means. Nothing really crazy to talk about. Just coming through. Not really tired or anything. Was still under ten minutes into the race duration, so just kind of dissecting it, not trying to make any silly moves, like putting a wheel in where it’s not needed and wash the front on a greasy surface or something like that.

Replace Hunter with Barcia and there would be 18 threads the day after calling for him to be banned from racing...Grinning

Like I said, I'm good with the contact racing.     Tired of one guy being a "hero" and another guy being a "villian" double-standard.

The Thrasher pass ended up clean....but Hunter was going to run it in on Nate if he had to...of that I have no doubt.

I guess I missed the Mosiman contact, I’ll admit that was a little sketchy. And I forgot about the Deegan thing over the finish too, not sure how to feel about that one. Could’ve been bad had Deegan committed to jumping, for sure.

I agree that Hunter’s no stranger to contact these days, but he has a ways to go before he reaches Barcia status. You’re right that if Barcia did all that he’d be raked over the coals here, but I think that’d be more so due to the fact that Barcia’s been making boneheaded moves for over a decade now. Marketing himself as Bam-Bam didn’t exactly help his reputation in getting to this point, lol.

Watch the Mosiman incident where he fell.

Mosiman had clearly lost his balance before Hunter came underneath him. The contact, to me, was incidental Michael was counter steering trying to regain his balance. The booth agreed.

The booth also agreed that Hunter's wide line on Deegan was good racecraft.

He's racing for his pay.

Mosiman lost his balance because he had committed to a line that was not going to be there.

I don't care what the booth says! They are commenting in real time.

Hunter was aggressive. Not dirty, but on the cusp of sketchy.

2x SX champ James Stewart said Hunter's move on Deegan was smart/good racecraft.

I'll take his word for it.

Ahhh, I see now. I thought they were referring to when Hunter hit the back end of his bike before the finish, at :55 in on the video WTF_M8 posted. Mosiman was definitely already looking sketchy/falling over before Hunter came along, I see nothing wrong with that pass.

Sure it was good racecraft. For Hunter.

But still on the edge of sketchy.

Plus James has hit his head quite few times. LOL.

Mosiman was off balance because he was expecting the incoming hit....

Listen to the clip above again... Blair  said DEEGAN had smart racecraft for not going for the jump when Hunter pinched him off.
