Kenny stole the show and realistically we should not be surprised. But, the real story as far how this season is going play out is Ferrandis. I can’t be alone in thinking that he was gonna possibly get Kenny before the end of Moto 2 and out of the guys left racing he has the best outdoor record. If he has found comfort on the new bike expect him to completely leave the KTM duo behind and as long as AC has nerve issues him as well. Although AC showed fantastic promise at high point. Jett’s biggest challenger was never going to be Plessinger or Webb like many in our media have been trying to proclaim. It has been Ferrandis this entire time and you can keep your fingers crossed for AC. When this is all said and done, if Dylan stays healthy he finishes 2nd with a very wide margin to 3rd.

When he gets that bike dialed he will be up there ( to late admittedly) people have a short memory of how fast he is when fit , he beat the best of them in 2021 👍

There’s really no excuse for Star not having that bike dialed in for Dylan…especially knowing how good it can be, evidenced by Tomac in SX before his injury. He can only ride what they give him…so I lay the blame on the team, not the rider.

I think his deal is over after outdoors.

His bike looks like absolute garbage. Blows my mind how much better Kenny's RMZ looked (or Chizes) after no outdoors prep

The difference is they don't have all the test riders. Eli and Dylan were hurt. If you remember, when they turned the previous model around after taking it over from factory yamaha, they had a full team of 450 guys and I believe had Nichols working on 450 setup too.

Dude no joke, he needs to go back to the black and blue gear with the chest protector on the outside. He was true Ferrandis in that

I actually didn’t think Kenny’s bike looked that good either. Perhaps better then Dylan’s though. I thought Kenny’s bike looked rushed and unsettled quite a bit but that track was gnarly.

Dylan should convince them to bring is 21 bike out there! That bike looked amazing all year in 21, I can’t remember a race where he looked out of sorts on that bike.

He just doesn't slow down. He was 2 seconds off both Roczen and Jett's fastest laps in moto 2. It might have been nice if anyone involved in the broadcast noticed his charge to catch Kenny. I get there is a lot going on but damn they missed a lot of battles this weekend.

Who exactly in moto media was writing off Ferrandis? Cooksey doesn't count.

It seems Dylan needs the perfect set up or else he's way off from his potential. He's had solid results, but not where I was expecting him to be.

Dude I was pulling my hair out at the end of the moto. Like what are you guys watching?!? I can see glimpses of the battle in the screen behind Jett and no one on the broadcast team can see it?

I always have my eye on the times on the left of the screen to see who is pulling away and who is catching who.

When they showed him in the 2nd moto yesterday, my first thought was they need to slap that silly looking front fender on his ‘21 and let him rip. Maybe a few nerds would pick up on it, but I don’t think the bikes look different enough (aside from the goofy front fender) that it would be obvious. Hell, MC did it for what, 3 years in the 90s?

Back to the point of the thread it was good to hear him say on the podium that he could finally push the entire moto and it showed

Where is his 2021 bike, why not roll it out with 23 plastics?

It's not like it hasn't been done before.

'21 Dylan would be winning motos. Fact. I'm not even good at visually picking up if a guys bike isn't set up well and even I can see his bike looks like garbage

From what we can hear, and understand, since days, months, it's plainly clear that his team doesn't want to win with him.

And btw, its 2021 mx bike's balance, "behavior", was not really great.

I agree with this sentiment. Tomac was vocal about not being comfortable with the new bike yet he still went out and won A1. Literally every outlet and review is saying the new Yamaha is a better bike, it's not like they turned the engine around again and have this goose of a bike.

Ferrandis is still coming off an injury, I suspect that has more to do with his results than a subpar bike. To think Club can put together a better bike in one week than Star after Star has proven time and time again they will do whatever it takes to make the best bike is kinda silly. I just can't see Tomac rolling around the top 5 this summer had he not blown his Achilles in supercross and going "yeah it's the bike mostly, couldn't be me."

And to be fair, I was high on the Ferrandis hype coming into outdoors but I don't think there's been a single interview with him where he hasn't claimed the bike is the problem.

I don’t criticize broadcasting very much (we’re human), ..but I was watching the time gap and Dylan was like 0.3 seconds behind Kenny!

I was wondering if they were gonna show anything!

IMO, Dylan has not been the same rider since he parted ways with DV. DV was a huge part in Dylan's championships.

Imo none of the top riders look at good on the new bike . I think Tomac was better on the old bike. And in mxgp Seewer looked better last year . Him and Renaux looked so sketchy on  it . early in the season

With a full time mechanic and a couple suspension techs, and they still can't get it right? Maybe they should ask some of the privateers for their settings.

Dylan hasn’t gotten the bike ironed out, In the ball park maybe… but clearly he is searching for more stability. His bike is so low in the rear and it just looks like it pogos and deflects off of everything. Give it a little more time and I think Red Bud could get very interesting.

Is 2023 the last year on Dylan's Star Yamaha contract?

So what was the deal with Dylan’s 2021 outdoor season?

What was the formula that made it work?

Did he get ‘lucky’ with others not being on top form?

The YZ450 hadnt done anything up to that point, yet he made it work and hasn’t shown the same form since.
