My around town average isn't the greatest, usually around 13, but then again my commute to work is barely 3 miles RT. I didn't trust the mpg figure on the dash so I measured the fuel in vs mileage on my trip to the house in the Tetons and it was pretty much spot on. Remember this was long runs of 400 miles on cruise without slowing down, but included some decent grades. Pretty much only stopped for fuel and piss breaks.

Normal world highway mpg around SoCal is around 20. Then again I drive like Mrs. Daisy is in the backseat and usually never go above 70.

I had a 2013 Laramie with the Hemi and it was trouble free for a little under 3 years, around 43,000 miles. Loved the truck but with my work it is beneficial to buy new ones every 2-3 years or I just hand the government $$$.

I did try a 2018 Chevy LTZ and only kept that for 15-16 months. To me it was a great looking truck but the interior was cheap crap even with the LTZ trim. It also had some shimmy n the cab. You could see the console shaking and it drove me nuts. Nothing wrong according to the dealer.

Just bought a 2020 Ram Laramie and it’s the nicest truck I’ve ever owned. The ride is incredible, interior/exterior is beautiful, the Hemi hauls ass. Based on my experience with the 2013 Ram I am not expecting any issues. After experiencing the 2018 Chevy and looking at Fords I felt the Ram was the way to go. One thing I love is it doesn’t have the engine shutoff there so many new vehicles have. My brother bought a new Ford and having the engine shut down at stop signs drives him nuts

This new truck is getting 23 MPG on the highway at 75 mph

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say. I think the Dodge is and has been the best looking truck for a lot of years. Sexy lines. The GM and Fords just look like blocks.

Having said that, my 2006 F150XL 4.2 has given me 250k fairly trouble free miles. I did manage to crack the transmission tail housing trying to climb a steep rocky hill and the alternator shit the bed at about 200k.

I guess I should mention that when the truck was a couple of months old I got caught at the track by a freak storm. 100mph straight line winds. The metal scoring tower blew over and then rolled on top of the truck. New cab, fenders, hood, radiator, and all glass. Just shy of a total.

We use them for fleet vehicles 250 4x4 and beat the hell out of them. Washboard roads to isolated communications sites. Only real issue was the aforementioned manifold bolt issue on one truck.

The 5.7 is a bit of a revver for a heavy truck motor but the newer 8 speed trans really compliments it compared to the old 5 speed setup. Another vote here for always going with 3.92 gears.

Common for the sliders on the brake caliper/bracket to seize. We have a 2018 with 20000 on it. They are the cheapest truck for a reason, but we lease them because they are so cheap. I would buy anything else unless you are leasing. I also find the seats very uncomfortable compared to other brands, but again it's a lease that doesn't get used for long trips. My ass can survive half an hour at a time in it, but a long trip would be miserable. I've had the same experience with Jeeps. If I was under 6ft maybe they would be more comfortable.

Engine kill? I think I’d hate that. I got the 2019 tundra limited . Not all that flashy and stuff and get o crappy fuel mileage but can’t complain. No troubles so far.

Whatever you do don’t buy an ecodiesel! Most unreliable engine I’ve ever had and I had a 6.0 powerstroke

Ram seems to be good at luring people in with all of the bells, whistles, and price point.

Their build quality seems to suffer over time. Neighbor has a 2013 crew cab 1500 and the rockers are bleeding rust from wheel to wheel on both sides. He just put a new transfer case in it. I don't know if he's ever even had it in 4wd.

You can buy a gizmo that overrides that bullshit. I can’t stand it either.

My mechanic, who is the go to guy on all things truck related around here, told me that dodges are fine as long as you plan to sell it before the warranty runs out.

I had both a 98.5 and a 2001, and after the way dodge treated customers concerning those crappy dash issues I don't think I would ever buy another one.

There is a bunch of rusted out dodge trucks in the NE ,especially the states that use salt to treat road ice.

Just turned 15k miles on my Rebel, only stitching on my driver seat and replaced under warranty. getting about 16.5 mpg which is better than my last RAM but I have a heavy foot and on highway its 80mph or faster so I dont pay attention much to MPG, I would rather have the horse power, if you want MPG get a Prius Blush Blush

I heard the air suspension is a weak link in the cold.

I really like the red, but I always get the Maximum Steel color. Might get the red next time, I had a Flame Red Durango when they first came out and it looked sharp, its a perfect red, not to orange and not to dark. Cool

My wife loves her 20 Laramie. She even let's me use it to haul my dirt bike. Going 80 mph hauling a dirt bike and still gets 20+ mpg on highway. Nothing long term to write about.

Living here in Minnesota, no vehicle makes more than 7 years before rust starts to show through. Seems like Dodge has proven drivetrain reliabilty. I work in auto service, they all have their issues. Pick your poison.

My nephews has the air suspension and takes it up snowmobiling and never heard any problems with the system, I didn't get the air suspension on mine but I would guess cold air and high altitude could have some effect on air bags but never came across anyone who has had a issue. I might need to but the mopar ram cold air intake, looks cool but will wait to see how they work, I have the AFE system on mine.

Two full winters with the air suspension in Minnesota and no problems. Two years ago was a brutal winter, lots of snow and cold. The air suspension came in handy driving home and up an unplowed driveway after a few blizzards.
