Sick? Injury? Realize that sounds ridiculous - and it may well be - but something was waaaay off for ET3 there, really....really puzzling. If the 2nd moto is the same, and he doesn't have one of those "we made a few setup changes and the bike felt 100% better" rebounds, the mx press group has some digging to do.

Managing points is NOT fading to 7th, but rather remaining in 3rd after holeshoting the race.

I'm not going to say that was a good performance, but what part of that wasn't managing his points lead? If he felt he couldn't go any faster without crashing then I'd say he did the right thing. Unless you think he didn't try as hard as he could in which case I think you're mistaken. Maybe we have different definitions of managing the points but to me it is salvaging what you can get on a not so great day.

Tomac had to of been bad arm pump via to stiff a suspension on this choppy track right. Didn't look have much control over front end at end of race. Bit sketchy

Just watched it again and when he landed the finish line jump he did seem to favor one side. Maybe he crashed practicing over the break.

Agreed. Managing is letting marv by if you dont have the pace. Dropping anchor is not the way to do it.

Body language says he had a practice crash.

Managing points might be fading to 5th, but not 7th. Even if he is just managing, with the good start I would think he would atleast grind out a 4th.

If he isn't feeling 100% and feels unsafe to give it his all, i agree with you that a 7th Place is better then crashing and get no Points. But the most Tomac Fans defending his Bad Performance with some excuses that are quite funny to read, but if Kenny tells "excuses" every single weekend about his Health issues, they laugh about him and saying that Tomac is just the FMOTP.

Kenny in beast mode while looking like he was on a Sunday cruise-bastard. When he is on like this it is pretty dang impressive. Tomac definitely not pushing it but did not look especially comfy on the green steed in moto 1. I think he knew pretty quickly that if he was to try and keep up with Kenny he might well have landed on his head and that would not be good for the championship. Took what he could. A million dollar+ bonus arounf the corner no doubt affects the right wrist.

Tomac looked tight on the bike, not fluid at all. Guessing he might be sick or possibly nicked up... no clue, but that was a bad ride for a guy with his talent.
