I know I don't want to be on the track with someone that is high and I am sure it has happened many times. Many people think they drive better after drinking too and we all know that is bullshit.

Thanks. Definately is not cool. You swear it won't happen to you but after a while you don't know who you are any more. Certainly feels good to be able to own a bike and not find myself pushing it to the hock shop!!!!

Of course I know that he sees and hears this stuff elsewhere. However, he is not hearing it from the people that we race with or the racers that he looks up to.

Yes, I care if he cusses. But, I also know how 12 year old boys are and cussing will not kill him or ruin his life.

Can anyone with a brain really think it's a good thing to ride or race a motorcycle while high? Would you want your kid doing that? Why even try to put a good spin on it here?

I have a few buddies who smoke one and ride a bit....mostly just bombing around the sand pits type stuff. I couldn't do it myself though.

weed in america is treated MUCH to harsh IMO. I don't smoke, but its way less a big deal than its made to be.

I'm against driving high, but if some guy wants to smoke on in his backyard all the power to him.

I'm not going to judge people that smoke weed on a "recreational" basis (a somewhat innocent word used to market weed as being ok) even though it is illegal. I did it in my early teen years until i found motocross, which kept me out of trouble and taught me many valuable life lessons.

Without turning this post into a political thing, and understanding that some of you believe that smoking weed does not put people in danger, I firmly believe that smoking weed before racing is a huge mistake. I've seen one local A rider in particular, who has gone out for a moto after toking up and rode around the track with absolutely no regard for anyone around him (on more than one occasion). Even worse is the fact that he would regularly dive-bomb other racers, taking them, and himself, out of the race in one fell swoop.

Racing is dangerous enough as it is... mixing in a drug that inhibits your senses can (and will) result in hurting yourself, as well as other racers.

I could not agree with you more. The laws should be changed.

I just would not want to be interpreted as advocating riding a motorcycle or driving a car while high or intoxicated. That was my point.

I personally indulged in the stuff on a daily basis,from 1975-1979, on the way to school, during school, at work, after work. And riding? Didn't even unload the bike without bong hits and stocking my shirt with a few "doobies"

It was fun but, I'm glad that life style is long gone.............................today, being sober and all, I can't even ride as well as I did back then being wasted! At least that"s the way I remember it................................do I remember it?.............................no wait..............................do I still have that hookah pipe?.......................................where did I put that thing?............brb

More than half the guys in my regular crew burn before they ride. They're all over 30, most are pretty quick with a couple being former state champs with top 10 GNCC speed. To each his own.
