I thought that a couple of years ago, then he battled with Villopoto. I wouldn't count him out, but of course his chances are small
I agree, could go either way, but risky to underestimate Reedy. Career's winding down, but one of gone strongest mentally ever. Would like to see him...

Wow..did you really say MENTALLY STRONG...are we talking the same rider? Tissue box was mandatory when racing against RC. And he pulled some questionable moves on James. All of his "vids" portray himself as a "warrior" but the crying episodes has spoiled that image for me.And when he won his titles it was by default and not straight up since RC and James were not present.

However, I will agree with you I would like to see him have enough success this year to keep the 22 team alive because Reed has an unique approach to making the sport interesting.
Shouldn't forget Reed lost two titles to RC by just a handful of points. But sure RC won and thats why he is the goat.

I guess I am forgetting that, since the only time he was around him was the time that he crashed his brains out.

Reed didn't lose as much ground from 2012 last year as it looked like. A comfortable Chad Reed would look like he did in 2012. Will that guy show up? I don't know, I hope and if he does he'll be a factor. If he doesn't, he still stands as one of the top 10 or 12 riders of all time, and the most successful foreign rider of all time.
Daytona qualifying times says if he's comfortable he's still one of the very fastest on the track

Yup, mentally strong. No one gets beat down as much as Reed did so often by RC and Stew and continues to get up swinging without being mentally strong.

you would have to be a complete idiot to count out chad reed- one of the best supercross riders of all time. Its all down to whether he is 100% fit and whether he can get the bike dialled in to exactly the right setup that he likes. You've got to think at this stage of his career he would have only chosen a bike he would be able to win on- especially given the other offers he had on the table (factory suzuki from RC's team etc)

reed will win at least one supercross this year and be a contender for the championship.

Had his number? He was on him for one race where he crashed himself silly. Reed is not going to be a contender, he is getting older and has every excuse under the sun....Dude has no reason to risk it all, all he has to do is cruise around in 10th and you jabronis will still make a tire swing from his nuts.

"Around him" but only beat him once.

I don't think that qualifies as "having RV's number."

Yeah, how? And before you answer, don't forget to fast forward the clock 3 years to age 30 and extrapolate those results to 2014.

Was MC as fast at 30 as he was at 27? Will JS be as fast at 30 as he is today? Will ANYBODY be as fast at 30 as they are at 27? Reed didn't beat them consistently 3 years ago, I doubt he'll do it now. I would love to see it becasue the racing will be amazing with 5 or 6 guys all the same speed but it aint happenin' IMO.

2010 wasn't exactly a killer year was it.

How? Come on Kongols, you can't be that dumb, can you?

How it turned out is, he and his wife built a team from the ground up, investing their own money to go racing, and he was a top 5 rider right out of the gate at A1 2011. He won races with his team. He grew his team staff, he grew his family, he brought in outside sponsers, he is THE MOST successful team owner / rider that ever tried. No one can deny that Reed has heart, determination and skill, and business smarts. No one can deny that TwoTwo Motorsports is one of the most popular teams in the pits. No one can deny that Reed is one of the best SX riders of all time.

If you do, your just being an asshole troll.

If you can't see Reed is on the way out, you must be a blind muppet. Reed will not win a main let alone a SX championship again. I'm not a fan of Reed and his mood swings these past years.

We're talking about 2 years, not 10. His biggest challenge is to believe he can beet his arch rival JS7.

The same thing happened when RC was out for a season. Everyone forgot how fast he was.

No one's talking about Milsaps either. He was blazingly fast before his injury.

Can't wait for A1!

The thing people forget is that Reed is one of the most talented supercross riders ever to swing a leg over a dirtbike. So he's 30 years old..and people say this rider and that rider were only capable of top 10 at that age. The riders people are talking about were never consistently the caliber that Reed is/was .

If Reed is comfortable on the Kawi, if he wants it badly enough, he'll outrun Dungey, and press RV so hard he wads it again...stamp it!

reed has more podiums than any sx rider even mcgrath. IF it weren't for RC and JS he would be up there with MC. Consistency on the box over the years wins championships. However, MXD has it right......He now just too old, he has realized he is not invincible and has alot to lose.

After the first six rounds it was like this. Your comment of the only time RV saw Reed was when Reed was crashing his brains out is totally wrong. Reed beat RV twice and RV beat Reed four times.

Ryan Villopoto 25 20 18 20 25 25

Chad Reed 22 16 25 22 20 22
