Jeez, he might be pretty deep in head games with his start gate problems. Could be a challenging mental hole to dig out of.
I hope he does.
Just get a decent start, ride clean, and shoot for the podium.

Of course, I could even see him give his teammate some grief if his setting selections happens to be better than the #3 for a particular race.

Yes.

Does anyone have statistics for positions gained and positions lost this year? If you look at his head to head battles he tends to beat out most other riders including Barcia, Webb, KR, Marvin. He just hasn’t had the chance to go head to head at the front.

Can we get the AMA to drop his gate like 1 second before everyone else? He might end up in the top 5-10 at the first corner haha

I'd he can outdrag Chiz on his privateer YZF just once he's on the box

In my young life I’ve never seen someone so consistently bad at starts. Df14 seems like a cool dude so I hope he can figure it out.

It's a shame that he's such a bad starter. It's fun to follow his progress through the mains but i'd rather see him battling in the top-5 from lap 1, not lap 18.

And unless he fixes these starts, he'll never contend for a 450 SX title.

What’s the best he’s been on lap 1 at any main event this year? 6th in San Diego?
Yeah 6th. His average position after the first lap before the triple crown in Glendale was 11.3 which is horrendous.

Dylan is an amazing rider with top talent. Fastest qualifier in Glendale. He can and will win a main this season. Clearly a start is what he needs. He passes the most riders out of anyone, but going from 14th to 3rd is the same as getting a holeshot and being passed by a couple guys and getting 3rd. Its all mental at this point. He holeshot outdoor nationals last summer so he is plenty capable.

^ Moto 76er beat me to it. He was the fastest qualifier last weekend. With a good start, he can definitely compete with the podium guys. He knows how to win; he just needs to get a start.

Hell, he’s been fast as hell coming through the pack and has passed more riders than anyone else in the class so far. Give him a start and he’ll probably disappear.

Can he? Absolutely. The question should be, will he?
