Tim Ferry Injured?

Racer X is getting varying reports about a crash and possible injury for Monster Energy Kawasaki's Tim Ferry. Apparently, Ferry crashed yesterday while riding near his home in Florida. The third-ranked AMA Supercross rider suffered a possible broken tailbone, requiring a trip to the hospital and overnight stay. Stay tuned for more details.

It's about time the AMA did something about banning practice tracks.

I wish Ferry well, I hope he can still race.

Banning Practice Tracks? Why would the AMA ban someone's practice track? How would they practice?

I think he's giving me crap for saying some accidents are happening at practice tracks and how i may have been infering that that makes them dangerous and some rules need to be made bla bla... To the contrary, what i was really thinking is how Dungey may as well race in a real race (450's) cause we get hurt as often practicing as we do racing!

A broken tail bone isn't a show stopper, but it is very painful! I raced with a broken tail bone for a while. Sitting was literally a pain in the ass!

I don't think this year has beat the year when Fonseca and Jason(I forgot his last name) had serious back injuries.

MOST injuries are in practice[/quote:plpfh3ls]

Wouldn't the law of probability dictate that fact?
They practice all week, and race for 30 minutes...The math is pretty simple.

Nah, it's like this every year. Three or four of the top ten riders drop out every SX season. Bring on the Nat's.

Did the doc put on a single glove to set the bone? :o

You are a lot tougher than me dude!! Even taking a dump hurt!! Let alone riding or seat bouncing anything! Too bad for Timmy, he was such an inspiration for some of us Vets.

Get well soon.

I bruised my tailbone once and talk about PAIN. eyyyoww. Seemed like it took forever to heal. No way I could ride...shoot, it was hard to sit in a chair properly.
I'm a huge Timmy fan and hate to hear this, especially during such a great season for him.

I'd like to see the stats on Sx practice track injuries compared to what they guys practice on during the outdoors season. I'll bet there is a huge difference.

[color=#0000FF:mk493i9i]Bum deal. I broke mine awhile back & it's the worst injury I've ever had...worse than breaking legs, arms, ribs, even my back. It still kills me to this day...5 years later. DocW, yer a real man, cuz I was immobile, on my belly for at least a week. Mine is still displaced, but at some point I'll have to get it fixed. I fear the Glove...//TJ[/color:mk493i9i]

Wow, I hate to even think of the recovery from getting it fixed :| I would probably have to go to my grave with that one unfixed - I too have bruised my tailbone and yes, that was THE worst injury I have ever had, the plate in my neck didn't even come close to the pain from that one.

Man I cracked my tailbone once BMXing. I couldnt ride for months! I could barely handle a speed bump in my truck! Sucks, get will soon Tim.

Dude i don't think it was broken if you could still ride. i have a fractured one just now and it's been 7 weeks and i sat on my friends bike and nearly jumped off it the pain was that bad never mind riding. I have rode hurt before but this one is a no go <img class= " title="Sad"><img class= " title="Sad">

James Marshall, not jason.[/quote:1xmspik1]That whole season was surreal with that. Fonseca is the one that ran over Marshall after his crash. Later that year I was at Indy where Ernesto got the holeshot and led a few laps. The next week he crashed in practice and it was all over for him. I feel so bad for those guys.

I talk to both on almost a daily basis. Both are still making progress. Its a long road ahead for the both of them.
