Okay guys, forgive me, as this might be a DUMB question, here we go.

I bought my brother a “camel smokercross” hat, sorta as a gag gift, but also because he mentioned he liked it, so it got me thinking.

Was “Camel Smokercross” ever a real thing? I’m not old enough to remember the days of cigarette title sponsors so I have no clue. I tried google searching, but nothing came up. So I came to you folks!

So, again, is or was “camel Smokercross” a real thing? Photo

Camel did sponsor the SX series in the ‘80’s I believe. These hats were made by Fasthouse if I’m not mistaken.

No. It's just a play on Camel Supercross, which one of my bikes has the sticker on the front plate.

Probably says Smokercross so they wouldnt have to pay royalties for saying Supercross.

Camel was the title sponsor of Supercross in the late 80's. So it was called Camel Supercross as opposed to todays Monster Energy Supercross.

The "smokercross" is a play on words.

Camel was a big sponsor of dirt bike racing back in the 70s, the flat track / TT series was known as The Camel Pro Series, and as many stated, they went on to sponsor supercross.

I will at some point, I stripped it down when I blew the motor a few years ago and was going to get some HRC parts and cerakote some other parts but a local vintage series came around so I put it back together with all its original parts. Still looks good but not factory HRC good. Photo

Thanks, this is the best bike I have ever ridden. I wasn't born till 96 but compared to all the modern bikes I rode this old bike is the best one by far.

Looking for some wings like the ones you have. Where's the best place to order some? Good looking dirt bike and yes, when setup are as fun as any modern bike.

Ah man, my first bike was a '89 CR250... The best thing about the bike was how soft the seat was, compared to new bikes they were like riding a Lazy Boy.
