Mot wins for Christophe 13, Dungey 7. Doesn't the fastest person usually win?

He didn't lose that championship in the moto his bike blew up in Southwick any more than then his bad motos at Glen Helen, Freestone, Redbud, Washuogal, or second moto at Southwick. If he had won any of those motos instead of finishing back in the pack on his own account the championship still would have been his. Dungey had some bad luck also but at the end of the year he was the better rider. Why can't people just admit that.

Oh and it is great to see someone voice their opinion like that. Go CP.
i agree that they both had some bad moto's throughout the year yet when it came down to the final stretch CP was in control until southwick ( which was disappointing to say the least to hear him say he didn't give it his all in the 2nd moto ). But how do you say that RD was a better rider at the end of the year when CP pretty much had RD covered since washougal speed wise?

Sort of hard on Dungey and high on himself though...he's a bit slim to be calling anyone a pussy.

YOu definately can't talke away that he is an amazing rider but!
His arrogance and excuses will wear thin.
Give it some more time and more and more people will be over him.
Great rider but after seeing he has his own roped of area behind the semi, the incident after the restart at Budds where his mechanic had the umbrella over him and he totally grabbed it and threw it out of his hands, i am wearing thin of his personality. Would Doug Henry act like this?

Call me crazy but his arrogance is why I like him. I'm tired of all that, "Awe I'd be super pumped if I on tomorrow." I'd rather hear someone say they were going to win the day before and watch them go out and do it. And if a rider wins whats wrong with him saying he's faster then everyone? Most people hate that kinda stuff but I think its pretty fun and way more entertaining then hearing the same old shit from everyone every time they make the podium. I hate to even bring his name up, lord knows we've heard it enough, but thats why J-Law pulls so many fans.

ALL real champions are sore losers. All of them. If they weren't, they wouldn't be winners. It has to hurt to lose in order to push yourself day-in and day-out to do what these guys do.

And on top of that, yes he was paralyzed for something like eight months, and even after he started riding again, he couldn't urinate properly and things like that. He's still suffering from some effects of the paralysis.

Chris Pourcel is a bad dude, no doubt about it, and any of you that would say otherwise are likely sitting on a comfy couch at home with a bucket of chicken in your lap saying how it "really is" on the computer.

You guys should read the feature I did with him in the June issue of Racer X this year, then tell me the guy doesn't have any heart.

Is CP the first rider to lose the 250 championship with as many as 13 moto wins?

No, I was okay after the first moto. The bike broke, but I felt like I could get it back, but when I was ready to go, in the first turn, the bike stopped. I don’t know why. I don’t know if [Ryan] Dungey hit me and I stalled the bike, or what. She just stopped, and I was in front. Then I just didn’t feel like riding anymore.

You dont ever quit. Barcia got to 3rd that moto and Dungey got to 4th. Who knows where CP coulda gotten too had he "felt like riding". Im sorry but you NEVER would hear those words out of Dungeys mouth. The guy who wanted it the most won.

I really hope Pourcel stays around because he is just unbelievable to watch, but he really doesn't have the heart Dungey does. This comment proves that.
Because he would never say it, does not mean he would never think it. Big difference

It's not really arrogance to be honest, that is just the way the french are.

I worked there for a while as a mechanic in Paris, and I hated them when I first went, but came to realize that that was just there way and once you come to understand that they are pretty cool.

Yep, I am with nerd too! Any of you people who were never pissed when you lost something big is either lying, or was never in that situation. This is how a true competitor reacts, they all probably do they just don't say it to us.

I hope PC can get the funding to put CP on a 450. It would be great to see him join RD, plus RV, MA, CR and JS in the 450s in 2010. That would be some exciting racing.

HAHAHAHA, I guess he has never experienced the speed of RV and James. He is right though, they wouldnt be following him, they would be passing him Laughing
Didn't he come over and beat RV in his second-ever SX? Maybe not James, but he beat RV when RV was "The Man" that year on a 250f.

ALL top riders are arrogant. All of them. They all believe they're better than the other guy. You HAVE TO in order to be a top guy!

Some of them are better at covering it up and putting on an act, though.

When RC said things like, "Wow, those guys rode great today, and I got lucky to win that one." He didn't mean it. In private, he didn't say that crap. He would say, "I had those guys covered all day. I knew I was going to win before I lined up."

That's reality. That's how this thing works.

That was an awesome interview. I like CP that much more, just hearing a rider speak candidly, and honestly.
I love the part where he goes - "I know when I have my speed, nobody can follow me. That time, it was kind of the same. He was pretty fast today, but he couldn’t have ridden with me if I didn’t want him to."

He's a bad dude for sure, I will be rooting for him for a long time to come.

The guy stages perhaps the greatest comeback from injury of all time, damn near wins the championship series but for a culmination of unfortunate ( for him) events and when immediately after the last race wherein he spanked the guy that did win it his interview isnt exactly flattering toward his competition some of you white bread eatin no racin douche bags have the gall to bag on him ..and to say he has no heart???!!!! WTF...incredible...sometimes I wonder where the sport is goin these days..

Seriously, how refreshing to see someone telling it like it is and going for it. He was fast all year and had bad luck, he is a competitor and is mad about it. I am personally more happy to hear this then the usual "if I win I win, if I get 10th I get 10th" line that we usually get. Way to go CP. Good luck next year.

good point.
He seems to have some"attitude" towards the competition though......let it out.
