Out of the box the KTM is superior.
After that, i'd have a hard time choosing between the KXF and the YZF.
Honda isn't the bike for me. Last model of this gen also.

I'd go for the zook if i was short on money.

Oh, for sure. They’ve been dominating Supercross and Outdoors, along with every 250 shootout for years now. Almost every privateer in the 250 class is on one. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I think green would make a cool looking bike. An old school yellow Yamaha would be nice.

Seriously, without riding them to see how they feel you might as well just pick a color you like.

For me, even though the Yamaha might be slightly superior in performance. I'd probably go KTM, easier to work on, better fit and finish out of the box and you can count on parts from lots of models and years fitting.

Overall best 250F? Yamaha YZ250F

What would I pick? RMZ because I am a vet rider and cheap ass.

I'd go with the SSR.

I'm inclined to try a new Husky. They feel like a very comfy bike from sitting on them.

Yamaha still sounds like the best game in town, but the Kawi looks like it will be great. I am really looking forward to the 2022 Honda.

yamaha.....bike is built great. The fatness in the middle is not that big of a deal. Take that out of the equation and you have the best bike by a large margin.

The new Honda's feel great to me, but thats the only newer bike ive gotten to ride. I only have sat on the other brands and they feel good to me, If i was buying a 21' ide legit go with any color. I am saving up for a new 250 but maybe it'd be better to wait, an go for the 22' crf250r.

this is what I want. The 2021 is roughly 1/2" lower seat height. I am a small guy and that sounds great to me! Loved my 2018 Husky FC250

I m quite sure the 250 yzf and kxf will dominate the shootout for 2021. That will be my first choice.

In my opinion, ktm/husqvarna went backward with the new frame (too rigid for B/C rider). I have the new 350 and had a 17 sxf before.

The honda 2021 is similar than the 2020 great bike also but you should wait the 2022.

I put my money on the YZ, the 2020 is super good and sounds like they just made it even better.

On paper, the KTM/Husky seem like the best choice. However, I like a 250 that feels like it revs really fast and when I rode the KTM is has that slower revving feeling, sorta how my 350 also is. I have always loved the Yamahas and owned several. If I had to put money down right now on a 21 250F, it would be that. But that is because I know I will like it. The Kawi sounds like a fantastic bike. I'm sure the motor is going to be good and it seems like a nice overall package, but I still see nothing about it that would make me choose it over the Yamaha. Yes, the YZ is a bit wide/tall and heavy but it's not as big of a deal on a 250F. If we were talking 450s, it'd be a different story.

I’m going to try a Honda after coming off a 2018 yz250f. Just because I want to try something different.

After riding a 2019 Honda 250, I want a yamaha. Its almost everything the Honda isnt engine wise. Honda is awesome on a fast flowy track, but as soon as it tightens up, its lacking. The Yamaha is argueably the easiest bike to ride. If someone asked me what new 250F I would recommend or would want. The 2021 YZ250F would be it.
I do wonder what Honda will do to the 2022 250?

YZ250F

Super stable chassis
Strongest feeling bottom end in class
Best suspension in class

Overall just a great package for a rider at any level

Having owned both a '19 250SXF and '20 YZ250F and bring able to ride them back to back they couldn't feel more different. I dont think one is any better than the other just starkly different.

This. The engines are polar opposites.

But the SXF/FC stomps the field HP wise in stock trim like Lastander mentioned. And it's very easy/cheap to get more out of it.

I see quite a few YZF here in Michigan. Perhaps Finland is a different story?

A bit more KTMs here because the dealer network is so much better than the rest (KTM dealers everywhere and they have more parts in stock). And like Lastander mentioned, it is the fastest bike out of the box. I'm on a 2020 YZ250F and i really like it since it's a bit more like a 450 (more low end torque than all the other 250s).

My vote goes to the Yamaha. That's the way I would be going. Been looking at them closely and trying to decide for myself, as I'm due a new bike.
