Look at the top ten from last year's motocross results in the 250 and 450 class. 4 of the top ten in 450's weren't from the US, including the top 2 guys. The American riders were Eli, Justin Cooper, AP, RJ, Stewart and Barcia. Eli and Barcia won't be around then. Stewart is 33, AP is 30, RJ is 30, JCoop is 28; the main reason any of them will still have factory rides in 2-3 years is because there's almost no 250 talent forcing their...

It has nothing to do with how many titles he won and everything to do with wanting to get to the 450 class as soon as possible and try and win the premier titles. Could you imagine Lucas racing a 250 right now? Would be a complete waste of that talent and skill.

The depth of top level riders in MXGP is super impressive at the moment. I don’t think it’s any fluke that Europe is producing more elite riders than the US.

If Lucas wins the next GP in Arco,the rest of the field is in for a long season!!!The guy is fast as hell on all type of soils.

He was 2 seconds faster on hard pack as well, over Gajser and Herlings. I’ll probably get downvoted for this but Lucas is turning into what Herlings should have been for a career path. Get out of the 250 class fast and up to a 450. For elite guys that’s how it should be. I disagree with DeWolf take, IMO Lucas is another level. Kay should not follow him to USA. Stay in Europe avoid Lucas and go into an era where your the young gun.
