They already have a TV deal in place with a subscription streaming option with MAVtv and NBC. Even though there are only a couple races on NBC I doubt any sponsors would want to give that up for youtube. Plus I am sure the production crew has an existing deal in place for the season, which would be hard to get out of.

Unless live revenue is massively different, it’s much much less than you’ve posted in revenue. I believe most of the financial benefit for livestreams is for individual content creators that do chat windows and have users donate, similar to Twitch. To gain revenue from YouTube directly, there will need to be ad breaks. And if we’re going off what most people would consider to be acceptable (every 15-20mins)…my guess is you’d only be seeing around $2,000-$10,000 ish off that 255,000 ish views. They wont nearly make as much money on YouTube vs their own service. Now is it possible? Yes it is as we’ve seen. Youtube has decent data compression that lets people even with slower connections be able to watch a live stream and not have it look like shit. Is it likely? No, because $$$.
