After the injuries he sustained in SX and the brain surgery im happy he is still out there! If the team is supportive then we should be supportive… If he can build on this and continue to improve throughout the year it’s a net positive.

How the top 10 in each class is not required to show up to the presser every weekend is beyond me. Miss one? $1k Miss two? $5k Miss three? $10k Etc.... At the end of the day this is a job. The best at their job have more responsibilities, and that is true in most places of employment.

Maybe top 3 should be off limits after the press conference. If “moto media” wants to ask them questions that’s where it should be done. 4th place back should be available to media in some fashion.

Both Pro Motocross and Supercross have tried this, but the riders and teams don’t show up. They just keep skipping it. In F1 and MotoGP, there are financial and sporting penalties for skipping these press pens though.

Yeah that wasn’t exactly what they said. I see both sides of the argument. I was kind of Gypsys side originally, especially when he bought up the point of the goal being to get the press conference on peacock. Kellen brought up some really good points though, much better than Matthes who just says it’s a waste of time and just kind of has a bad attitude about it in general. I think Feld/MXSports needs to try and find a way to facilitate both.

This is off base, I’m driving right now but I can give a full explanation later. We’re not penalized to do interviews at the trucks if no one shows up at the media scrum. It is suggested we do them at the scrum / press conference, but we still have freedom if no one is showing up. I did all but one of my interviews Southwick in the pits at trucks by example. And for the user trying to put down Mx Sports and say Feld doesn’t better, the idea of no truck interviews was put forward by Feld first...

Unless of course you happen to be at that race, and also happen to work for one of the names under the Racer umbrella (Racer X, MX Sports)...... oh, and also just so happen to be a journalist that falls into one of the afore mentioned names listed above. Man, you sound like a nice guy, but I think it’s sold as is. You are assuming that he is honest as you are. He could’ve had one of his idiot friends, ride it and blow it up. the reason I say this is from experience. I sold a bike and the guy came at me a week later trying to get his money back. Found out his forest grump brother had been doing burnouts in the garage and blew it up. I think you just move on.

You sound like an honest guy ..So officially you owe him nothing and he knows that. There is no way to know if a bike will suddenly drop a valve. That being said- probably an honest guy like you would feel better throwing him a couple hundred bucks and you wouldn’t be wrong.…but straight up you owe him nothing.

Sold as is. Sucks for him, but it’s a 10 year old 250f. Shit is bound to happen. If giving him $200 makes you sleep better at night that’s on you, but you’re not obligated to do anything here.
