It looked like he was hammering into the braking bumps while the brothers float over them better and flow faster into the mid corner. Watching how hard and deep his suspension was working in those bumps, its no wonder he pumped or and/or fatigued late in the race. I told the wife as it happened that I thought the heavier bike was beating him up and making him tired those last 10 minutes. To be the third fastest guy in 450's already is impressive and I think he'll get faster. Of course the brothers could too.

Well , i personally dont own any yz85s at the moment but i would not be running 15:1 ( lean actually) regardless what anyone told me or what i read somewhere.... I will leave it at that because there will be alot of opinions on this.... 3 heat cycles riding the bike or on the stand in the garage? Seating the rings is so important at initial start up and to perform this properly you need to put a load on the motor , ie; riding the bike . I threw the carb in the ultrasonic cleaner and replaced the breather hoses. Aside from needing a good scrub, everything looked ok to be able to go for a quick ride. I think the 250F is the best choice for kids moving up and kids who want to race. For a vet guy, especially a heavier guy, the 350F has a lot more to offer and they are very easy to ride. The 350F doesn't have the gnarly torque that tires you out, but you can still get over a jump from an inside line or torque through the deeper dirt. I grabbed a screenshot of pulp posting the dyno. I just got this pipe and tested it back to back with the standard one at Hangtown last weekend. It’s def a noticeable difference in power, especially with how long it pulls. What really helps is remembering I'm racing a 30 year old vet class at a local series and not one person including your family or friends have any idea what class or race you're even racing and you can just tell them you won and they wont know where to even find the results.

Owned several over the years: 1983: Game changer, this bike was a local racer's best option to move up in the pack. Fast, reliable, handled great, Honda nailed it in 1983 1986: Awesome bike of that time, fast and handled great, suspension was smooth, I think the 1987 was a better bike 1993: Great chassis, decent engine, wasn't in love with this bike as much as the reputation it had 2003: Best chassis, engine was under rated, I think of the CR250R's I have owned I will say this was the best of the group

All emotions aside (sorry that may be hard for some of you), but has big money ever been paid for any 250 rider to compete in the AusX Open? Happy to be corrected, I just can’t think of any. International riders are paid well to compete in the Aussie series for local teams, however one off, well paid appearances are usually reserved for 450 competitors. Reality is, in Australia the 250 class barely moves the attendance meter for SX. I’m going tonight and seeing Deegan would have been a bonus, but I don’t care that he’s not there. Sorry, not...

Even beyond those reasons, why would they fork out money for any top US rider to come and ride the 250 class with no real competition? With the Lawrence’s both riding back in Australia for the first time in many years, I don’t think Deegan would have moved the needle significantly with attendance numbers.

Have to agree with this comment, I’ve never seen seats for the Melbourne round sell out so quickly - everyone is there to see the Lawerence brothers and no doubt the night’s entertainment will cater to that - let the Aussies have their moment 🤷🏼

Last night was one of those nights, couldn’t sleep. Allergies, it’s that time of year in Houston Texas area. Woke up in the middle of the night and poked around on cycle trader and Facebook Marketplace at used bike prices for couple of hours. I have a trail bike I want to flip I never ride, wanted to check prices. Then did searches for other brands, MX type etc. Lot of Green bikes for sale Houston area. Must have been some really good rebates. Not going to say a guy could get a screaming deal, but might save few buck...
