Wasn’t happy with the exhaust so I loosened everything off and was able to get it to fit much better by bolting up the subframe last. 8/25/2026 2:47am Thanks. I agree, that generation are still my favourite looking bikes. I just checked out the FMF Hondas, they looked good. I’m still leaning towards the woody graphics. Once I get the bike sorted mechanically (hopefully this weekend), I’ll get onto the graphics

nice build. the stock/oem/factory look of the bikes from the 05-08? era was, imo peak. the woody graphics are cool. if you are looking for a white style, id give a look at the 98 FMF honda. There is a nice cover shot of Talon Vohland. it wsa mostly white but with red accents that i always thought was cool

8/23/2026 4:29am Filled the bike with oil and coolant last night and fired the bike up today. Sounds healthy, revved free and wasn’t blowing oil out of the exhaust so good signs of improvement. I did notice afterwards that the pipe definitely isn’t sitting right, there’s about 20mm of exhaust flange showing. I’ll have to revisit the exhaust mounting. a while ago...

6/24/2026 2:02pm While I was mucking around with the bracket I decided to make a fork height gauge and a few different chain slack gauges. I was surprised checking the manual that the spec for the CR is 25-35mm. I’ve always just run the old two to three fingers so this will be an upgrade.

6/8/2026 4:34am Thanks for the tip. It’s already tight swapping filters without adding anything to the airbox so that might be a better option. I think I’ll mount the pipe and everything then see what space I have.

If you relocate the CDI and rectifier next to the shock, you can use the original wiring, but will need to extend the kill switch wires.
