8/18/2026 7:16am I am sure i heard over the MXGP broadcast that Fernandez was going to Yamaha to replace Renaux. With 2 new manufacturers now tapping into the rider pool (Ducati and Triumph) its even more important to develop talent in the lower classes. I have to say , that with Coenen's leaving , the time for a good US rider to come to MXGP has never been better. Nobody in the US now is going to beating Lawrences, or Coenens any time soon, long term, even less, only Deegan is on the upslope, everyone else is timed out and on the...

8/18/2026 7:16am With Renaux locked in at Factory KTM, Febvre at Ducati and Vlaanderen with Honda SR it´s indeed not looking great for Kawasaki to sign a top talent. Seewer is out of the question for obvious reasons. Fernandez is rumoured together with Jonass and Geerts, but nothing materialized as far as I know. Maybe that Gasjer can get out of his contract with Yamaha? but I don´t expect that to happen without a fight, so who they could consider? If even a Star Racing engine can't make him happy enough, maybe he will push to leave? Vialle has a multi-year contract...

8/18/2026 3:17am Watch a Downhill World Cup mtb race. If you go outside of the course markers you must re-enter the track at the same point you left it or you will be DQ’d. Pretty brutal rule considering your race is essentially over with all the time lost climbing back up the hill to re-enter, but it keeps the field highly focused on track limits. The consistency at which the UCI enforces the rule is key, which is exactly what the AMA has a systemic problem with.

8/17/2026 5:49am I wonder how long Yamaha's team managers will put up with his behavior. His results on the track are pretty good, but apart from that, he's a PR nightmare for Yamaha.

8/17/2026 2:45am I have to say that maybe the racing wasn’t great, but IRL it’s not that big of a deal really. The area is beautiful and the trip from Stockholm or Gothenburg to Udevalla is genuinely nice. Also the the atmosphere is one of the best and this track has also some parts that are unique and really cool to watch in real life that you can’t really see properly on television. For me one of the best GP’s of the year together with Trentino and any GP held in France.

8/14/2026 3:47am So, I think this was 1983, I was riding 125 intermediate in a Texas cross country series. The week before a race, I crashed practicing and my bike caught on fire (another long story) and all I was able to replace was the wiring and hoses that burned, and the seat cover. It smoked a radiator shroud pretty badly, and the tank was blackened significantly on one side. It looked bad. So, I show up on Saturday to practice, and I have 1 boot in my bag, still don't know why. I practice with my burnt CR with 1 Alpinestar...

8/14/2026 3:47am 1989 at a local pro race. Very tight very twisty and SUPER bumpy. Guy was leading it and lap after lap I’m trying every which way to pass him. I’m sticking a wheel in, panic revving in to turns to mess with him etc etc. So part of the track there was a whooped out straight which then rose up somewhat quickly about 4 foot before a very sharp right hander. Just before this rise, I hit some huge ass hole, the back end kicks up and I’m headed over the bars so I rev the piss out of it...

8/14/2026 3:46am An old tale...one time at a Southwick race, myself and 3 other friends from the same town decided to race, This was back in the mid 70's, none of us over 16. Full 40 man gate, probably 4/5 heats and we all end up in the same heat. Gate goes down and there is a big first turn pile up (regular occurance) which I was part of. I get up off the ground and grab my bike, look around and all 3 of my buddies were on the ground. Turns out, out of 40 guys us 4 ended up on...

8/14/2026 3:45am Mid 90's during an othg race at Carlsbad. They needed volunteers to run the gate, so me and my buddy Kirby signed up to help out and drop some gates between our moto's. After a few gate drops we realized that the guys who were getting the holeshots weren't looking at the gate, they were watching us. They'd line up as far back as they could, start slowly inching forward, and as soon as we'd move to drop the gate they'd dump the clutch and be going 2-3 mph across the line while everyone else was at a dead stop...

8/14/2026 3:44am 1987 World Mini Grand Prix in Las Vegas. It was my first big race, first time to Vegas, first weekend racing without my dad. (I still can't believe he let me go! I was only 16 and went to Vegas with two friends who were also underage!) There was a "jetting area" in the pits that was a rectangle with two 180-degree berms at each end. You could get on the pipe and blast through some whoops and then shut it down. Well, 10 minutes before my race, I decided to make sure my bike was running right. I blasted...
