The pilot jet is clogged from sitting. The pilot jet is located in the non threaded hole and requires a small flat head screw driver. Make sure to get the correct size flat head driver or you'll round off the pilot head. Shine a flashlight down the non threaded hole and you'll see the flats of the pilot. I bet it's clogged. I recommend gutting the entire carb and giving it a thorough cleaning as the needle and emulsion tube can also have gunk on it causing a lean condition. Spray carb cleaner through all jet passages to confirm good...

https://pwonly.com/product/pw50-carburetor/ There you go dude. Cheap enough to grab a new one. You could try drilling out the old pilot, but i don’t know how easy it will be on that tiny carb.

You could use a tiny strand of wire to clean the pilot jet in place. I use a small piece of guitar string and poke/spray into the pilot jet to clean it. I've run across a few PW carbs where someone rounded off the pilot jet head. In regards to the air screw, I ha e worked on any PW's newer than '03. It sounds like they have a tamper proof air screw. The oil line is a pain to get off. I believe it has a metal collar that you need to slide off prior to removing. I had...

Sorry... One more thing. After Drilling and removing the air screw plug, I noticed the air screw is a blunt tip type, unlike the needle tip that I'm used to. It almost resembles a float Bowl drain more than an air screw. It does not have a rubber o-ring seal. Is that normal? Is it okay not to reinstall a...

Update.... thanks you guys, I appreciate the input. OK upon deeper re-inspection of the pilot jet hole, the pilot jet has been rounded off so smooth and well that it just looks like a tiny hole now in the bottom. I suppose getting it out will be a nightmare. Any suggestions on that? Also ... the oil line doesn't appear...

These things are pretty simple so I must be a simpleton. Has super low hours, and sat for a couple of years before somebody else cleaned out the carb. I don't see a pilot jet ??? next to the main jet but there is a non threaded hole there. It will start and run for a minute or so and...

Full disclosure ...I'm not very fast, so I can't pull from fast guy knowledge, but ...... it seems the wheel disc covers could have the potential to magnify the effects of turning the wheel and/or bike sideways in the air. Like Ping said, the reason we do that is to change the attitude of the bike in the air, so wouldn't the wheel covers actually help that situation in certain situations? Maybe it hinders in certain situations too, I wouldn't know. The riders body and the midsection of the bike are already "wind sails" that we're dealing with. But just...

I spent an evening with him in Paris (after the supercross) serving as his "translator" ... It was a crazy night where we had a lot of fun ... Because of his kindness, I felt part of the group very quickly, and that nigth is a very good souvenir. Several years later, I was in a restaurant near Washington DC, and Jeff walked into the restaurant ... He saw me and ... remembered me !! He came to say hello to me and spoke with me for 10 minutes, then he went back to his friends ... Really cool guy...

Lmao. It’s seriously not that bad. Oh we can still swim and surf in the ocean and walking on the beach isn’t that big of a deal. We just roll down it now. Yes it’s a mind fuck in the beginning. You feel like a infant having to relearn daily activities that everyone takes for granted. Especially pissing and pooping on your own but once you get everything figured out and get active it beats the alternative.

When you walk into a Yamaha dealership, what do you see? Street bikes, wave runners, side by sides and quads. Then over in the corner you see ttrs and a couple of wrs. Then finally you see the yz. The moto x bikes are tip of the spear for branding. KTM is tiny vs the Japanese so they segmented the market for hardcore enthusiasts and focus on offroad dirtbikes. The Japanes haven't given up anything, they make their $ on a broader consumer market that has bigger wallets and less knowledge about what they are buying.

Again? I remember them being offered as an option on the DG Monoshock frames for the Honda XR75 back in the day. Had a choice of Gas Girling or Bilstein.Smile
