Exactly, the way that rear end beat him to death HAD to be a huge energy drain. I considered his rides a testament to his mental and physical fitness. Impressed the hell out of me. Truthfully, I'm gonna guess his suspension is a-ok by Hangtown.

That would be amazing. Like James said, he’ll learn from watching the reply and hopefully they get the rear end of the bike more settled.

Especially on Star power

I just hope he can ride like he did yesterday on a Ducati or KTM or whatever bike he ends up riding next year.

Eli showed he’s still better then everyone not named Jett yesterday in that 2nd moto. They whooped up on everybody.

Eli silenced some of the guys in this thread. He may have had a rough couple of years, no different than Jett who’s way younger or really any other rider at points in their career. He still has elite speed.

The nagging injury thing is a concern with Webb and getting more frequent limiting him outdoors but he's Mr Consistency in SX. Tomac has been hit by freak injuries ending recent SX seasons but is still Mr Beast outdoors. Seems there must be a way to keep both on Yamahas with Webb mainly the SX guy and Tomac mainly the outdoors guy and if either has a series ending injury the other guy could fill the opening without hiring anyone from outside. Shuffling the $ numbers shouldn't be impossible with a good accountant?

Damn. After a day like today, all I gotta say is…come on Star and Yamaha! Find a way to keep him on! ET gels so damn well with the bike and has the tools to take the fight to Jett and co.! 😭 It was damn good to see Tomac ripping again. I was at Pala and that 2nd moto was such a sight to see..

An absolute shame we may not see Eli finish his career on blue.

I don't think people really grasp the psychological stress these guys in contention for championships go through. His body and mind probably need a big sigh of relief after the past 18 weeks.

Eli...like almost every other great/iconic racer, at some point, is not the company's future, just their past. I think it is beyond stupid to not find the money to keep Eli. Yamaha could find the funds in 10 seconds if they wanted to. Eli indicated he was close to calling it a career a couple years ago and plans were made to satisfy this and still keep Yamaha a powerhouse. Deegan is now their star rider of the future, like it or not. Eli is/was riding great and I think he can win another championship or two if he doesn't...

My point is that evidently Yamaha has the final say in giving Eli a contract. Maybe that's not it but I don't understand how in the hell they are letting him walk away.

So Star fixed what Yamaha couldn't get right and now Yamaha knee caps them and lets the baddest most popular American racer walk. Dumb!
