Ha ha ! Yeah I know...they wont get a rise out of me in this thread..I feel sorry for them..it must be pretty miserable being a troll..creeping around in the shadows, putting your lack of manners and reading comprehension on display whenever you type.. Me...I just love motocross and motocross bikes...all of them..2 strokes, 4 strokes..no strokes! Hey maybe I...
Thats great! Looking forward to reading your content, Ive never had the opportunity to ride an Alta, they were all set to start shipping to Australia and had appointed an Australian distributor when it all collapsed. That guy contacted me about doing a demo day at the track I work at...the track boss was pumped on the idea, sadly it...
Im in Southern California, near all the iconic motocross tracks. Ive owned my Alta Redshift MXR for almost 4 years now. When i heard about the Stark Varg, it took me all of 3 brain cells to decide to order one. Electric dirtbikes are so rad, and the Varg seems to be an improvement over the Alta MXR in a few different categories. Electric powerplants are amazing for motocross. Literally every single person who has ever ridden my MXR has come back with a huge smile on their face. Even the die hard 2 stroke anti-everything-else guys who take shots...

The issue of a myriad of problems arising that will be completely beyond Stark's control, is actually my only fear. Ol Matey thinks I've been drinking the koolaid.... Id just like to say that these last 2 years have been a real fucker! We've all been through it and its been particularly bad here in Victoria Australia where I live...

Thing is, Titan1 He's buying one. He's got confidence in it. You don't. And both positions are fine. There's no need for you to keep on harping on about the 'risks' of being an early buyer of a Stark Varg. PJ has given thought them, has weighed them up, and is awaiting delivery. His money, His risk. It should be of no concern to you, and your decision not to take said risk. 'Cycle Parts' really won't be a problem : as many people know, the bloke who is the 'front 'man, has been involved in one of the largest...

RealityCheck Liked a reply to forum topic Stark VARG Test, T-Minus Three Months

The clanking and clunking on my Freeride is actually more noticeable on the bike then from the side of the track. It takes some getting used to. The most interesting noise is the sound of the rear tire ripping through dirt, which is very noticeable when on the bike, but not all all noticeable to a bystander.

PJRAUS Added a reply to Stark VARG Test, T-Minus Three Months

Had to scroll a ways to dig this up again..In view of the many negative comments and attititudes airing fuly in the main Stark Varg thread..Michael, if you could please get into the nitty gritty of individual components, particularly high wear components and if these things are being outsourced from existing suppliers. There seems to be a recurrent theme here...
Well..as we have already agreed...nobody has actually bought one yet, just paid a small deposit. But very soon now, the media are going to get to test this bike and report back to us..we are then going to have a great many questions answered... This to me, speaks volumes about Stark's integrity and their confidence in their product, for surely...
PJRAUS‘s right about the components (and with the rest of his post), no problem with wear parts: STARK’s uses KYB suspension, wheels in KTM dimensions, matching Brembo brakes and standard bearings and stuff like that. Sure, if they go out of business and if motor or the battery or the electronics fail you habe a problem. However, those things are not parts that wear out (battery looses capacity over time, but very slowly). I mean completely new products are always for the brave that embrace new tech. Doesn’t matter if it comes from an established company or not.

I will concede the point on battery, cpu and motor...it is a complete unknown at this stage.. I think our argument stems from the differences between us in our own personal situations.,. If I thought the stark would possibly only last me a year and then be a worn out wreck that I could never get parts for..I wouldn't have...
They are the guys behind 24mx.com, one of the largest online motocross shops. If that's not enough for you...

Well Im sure the bike will come with a 520 pitch chain..no problem there, sprockets...they are probably getting them supplied by an outside supplier..likewise brake components as well as hubs , rims and spokes.. In all likelihood, Stark is probably manufacturing relatively little of the bike in house.. They have probably dropped the coin already on making injection moulds for...
Im not concerned if the company should fail in 3 to 5 years, if I should get stuck with a bike where there is no longer any parts available from the oem..it wont bother me. I have rarely ever bought oem parts for my bikes, the high wear items are always covered by the aftermarket anyway. This bike being electric...I...
Um...you might be overlooking the point that basically no one is actually paying up front for the bike...just a $ 100 deposit...I will get asked to pay in full when the bike is built and ready to ship..the company has already stated this. Very soon the company is going to have the media test the bike..Michael Lyndsay is going to...
This thread is just so damn fascinating, because if you read the whole thing, you can see the unmistakable, almost unfair, advantage that optimism and forward thinking have over doubt and pessimism. The negative people who post keep bringing up Canondale and Alta over and over again, as if somehow, the fact that something failed in the past means ALL THINGS NEW MUST FOLLOW SUIT. What a lousy ass way to think. What a lousy ass way to live a life. Imagine if you actually raced motocross and felt this way. The first time you crashed in a corner would...
