That would be best case, foot brake so my brain doesn't short circuit & hand brake for sketchy downhill terrain.

.
You can only choose one or the other on the website.

Similar concept as some Alta owners have done. See here: https://altaownersforum.com/threads/diy-lhrb-that-retains-the-foot-brak…
I went with the hand brake right out of the gate for three reasons:

1) I have more time riding and racing snowmobiles than I do dirt bikes. Snowmobiles don’t have a rear brake per se, but the brake lever is mounted on the left handlebar and it’s natural for me.

2) I’m really excited to see if and/or how much better my riding technique can be if there is no reason for me to (under normal circumstances) shift my foot positioning from the balls of my feet. No shifting gears and no foot brake. On gas bikes, I often find myself struggling a little with the foot coordination and end up riding on my arches or even sometimes further back, which is obviously not ideal…

3) If I ever do find myself in a whisky throttle situation, I would hope that grabbing a handful of Brembo would mitigate any major loss of control as the muscle memory of pulling in the clutch is pretty firmly engrained in the cerebral processing unit. Makes me wonder just how strong that rear brake really is. Is it enough to hold back 80 HP and crazy torque? Guessing the torque will be approaching 175 lb/ft??

^This is why I think having a clutch would be beneficial. I don't know for sure, because I've only ever ridden slow e-bikes (Sur-Ron Bee.) However, it seems like being able to disconnect the power would help in a whiskey throttle situation, or to help modulate the torque at low speeds (coming out of corners, for instance.) Maybe throttle control will just become more important.

EDIT: PS, I understand the torque figures are much higher than what you guessed:
As one might expect from an electric vehicle, the torque figures are also off the charts. The motor puts out 275 Nm (203 lb-ft) at the axle, with that number multiplied to a mind-numbing 938 Nm (692 lb-ft) at the rear wheel. That’s not just dirt slinging, that’s practically dirt liquifying.

80 hp 19" rear wheel with hand brake.
I've been riding a e mountain bike and am getting used to it.
I figure if it's really that programmable i can just turn the power down But if its not there you cant turn it up !
February of 2023 delivery ? i was thinking that's for the 80 hp motor?

80hp; hand brake, gray, 18” wheel. I had a 2020 freeride exc that unfortunately stolen, but it was the funnest bike I’ve ever had. I had a “20 ktm 300 XC at time and almost never rode it the e-bike was that much fun. I HATED THE IDEA OF HANDBRAKE BUT YOU GET USED TO IT QUICKLY AND IT IS sooooo much better than foot. Do yourselves a favor and get an inverted generator with 240v outlet. Cheapest I could find was a champion 8750w/7000w for $1200.

Ordered a grey 80 hp with 18 wheel
Ordered at 1am on December 15th.

I have two electric motion escape R electric bikes, a ktm electric on order that I will get soon. I also have 9 other gas KTMs as well as several quads and utvs. I own the Black Sky Harescramble in Binghampton NY that is round 7 of NYOA and previously a GNCC track….I have been riding for 35 years and have had over 110 bikes. To say the least we are pretty crazy about the electric bikes. We live part of the year in Key West Florida and electric allows us to ride everywhere. On the road our family rides adventure bikes. I have a KTM 690 enduro,my son a 890 adventure R and my wife a 390 adventure…the other son rides a 690 duke.
