I don't quite get the one wheel excuse for this, he was on one wheel because he realized he fucked up and was braking as hard as he could when it was already too late. I don't think the majority of people pissed at Barcia think it was a takeout, but just that he should have known better to drive it that hard in pointed past the apex of the corner with it being full of bikes, knowing they are all likely to turn down on each other. He should have known better. Yea, Jett will think twice about turning...

A bit of a boneheaded move by both…. But gotta put it mostly on Barcia. I suspect Jett won’t cut down like that on lap one mid pack again… I also suspect Barcia will go in uncontrolled and smash someone again because he thinks he’s about to get smashed by someone like Friese… I am definitely in the camp that it wasn’t on purpose, wasn’t an intentional take out of Jett. And glad Jett doesn’t appear to be seriously injured.

Nope. I saw the replays. I guess you don’t understand racing if you think Barcia was trying to do that. There’s nothing else to say.

Jett’s turn down was overly aggressive, requiring him to back off the throttle. Barcia was charging and could have executed the corner, albeit somewhat awkwardly. Both made bone-headed decisions which hopefully don’t negatively impact the season.

This analogy is perfection.

Barcia was coming in way too hot, especially that early in the race. Who he hit is irrelevant. Anyone would have gotten smoked there, and lots of people were cutting down. I fail to see the strategy here by Barcia. Not his brightest move.

Barcia was thinking only of Friese because…game recognizes game. It was like when Godzilla and King Kong are fighting in Tokyo. Jett just happened to be a building downtown. Collateral damage.

Lot of good points here, glad to see some fans have realistic insight into what happened, there’s a lot of variables in play here and shouldn’t all be thrown at Barcia because of his checkered past, personally, I wouldn’t put him in Frieses class, but that’s just me

Like someone else said Barcia was coming in tight to not allow Friese to blow his doors off. Jett just happened to turn down about as soon as humanly possible in a bowl turn to get under Hunter who was already turning down. Freak accident and Barcia clearly didn’t mean it

Blame pie 85% Barcia, 15% Jett. Turning down in traffic is always a risk, but Barcia was about to cut across the entire exit of the turn. When you're perpendicular to the track flow and a collision occurs, pretty good indicator it's on you.

What you can't see in that picture is Friese inside of Justin. Justin was blocking the inside line but definitely bad judgement from both Jett and Justin. Shit happens though, don't need to play the blame game

Not the smartest line by Barcia, but turning down on lap 1 of a main isn’t ideal either.
