Yes 100LL doesn’t make more power in itself, but it does allow higher compression ratios and more aggressive combustion chamber shaping, which in turn produces more power. 100LL is also a comparatively cheaper alternative fuel that offers detonation protection, easy jetting and long bearing and piston life. For the average Joe it’s easily one of the best fuel options for a two stroke motocross bike.

People get caught up in a numbers game and don't even realize what would help them go faster sometimes (lap times). The Zuk gets shit on for being "down on power" yet the average rider can't over-ride any 450 out there, never mind the yellow one. Look at that latest 250/350/450 shootout and actually listen to Jacob Hayes (who is pro level fast). He rode on the mellow map with the 450 and felt better/more in control on the smaller bikes. Yet the average C rider thinks they need a high comp piston and engine work to make the RMZ...

If you can’t pass a 450 on your 350 on a motocross track, it is extremely unlikely that it is because of your lack of hp.

You see people complain about the stock carb and don’t want to jet it probably, but will swap carbs and rejet those for some reason. If you want to swap carbs I don’t have any info on that. If you want to rejet the stock carb keep reading. Here is the jetting thread for the stock carb. For a ‘22 I’d pick up a few extra mains a few steps over 500. KTM did something around 2020 and the bike makes more power then the ‘18 I honed this jetting in on so you’re gonna need a bit more fuel...
