Its official. The 350 is the fastest. Both mxa and vital have done the lap time comparison. Mxa on gas gas. And vital on husky. Glen Helen and Perris. Pro level rider. 350 2 seconds faster.

I'll be second in line for one behind you. Doubt we'll ever get there now, but still super disappointed Kawi or Yamaha never stepped up and split the difference in engine size.

Dude in the video rips, better comparison than the one with Keefer and Caballero and the other dudes, although that was good too.

Next time, '23 KTM 125 Vs '22 125 or '23 GasGas 125 would be cool. As would a reliable Vital evaluation of the new 250 Vs 300 2 strokes would be good to hear.

I boggles my mind that the Japanese haven't figured it out yet. The thought process is flawed. I remember hearing Travis Preston on the Pulp show saying KTM didn't sell enough 350s to justify it, LOL. They are clueless.

They might not be clueless. Just because the 350 is faster in these tests, the 350 was dominate in motocross when AC222 rode it.

I believe the 350 is the most fun and fastest for me to ride. But all of this doesn’t mean they would sell a lot of them.

Everything I have read and heard shows the 350 being one of KTMs best selling bikes. Based on what I see out the track in the PNW there are a TON of them. Small sample size, but they are extremely popular.

If Yamaha made a YZ350F, I would literally buy one tomorrow. I still kick around the idea of getting a new Husky 350F and swapping forks with one of my older YZ's.

Depending on BMI and cholesterol, they'd actually probably be much better off chilling out on the beer, eating better, and working out.

But it's just much easier to have zero corner speed or stamina and lug a 450 in 3rd around the whole track.

I always enjoy those who say the 350 can't compete against the 450's yet we have sometimes seen the 250's lap time be the same on the same track on the same day. If a 250 can get similar lap times as a 450 then the 350 can or better. All of the privateers should ride a 350 because they won't get as worn out on the bike and their lap times would be better at the end of the race.

Lap times are one thing but they get beat off of starts.

Though it's ironic that back marker guys will complain about not wanting to get a bad start, and still get a bad one on a 450 when 2 seconds a lap would allow them pass guys mid to late motos

Let’s be real a lot of it is probably dependent on track conditions and rider ability on the day someone would organize a test like this. When it’s worked in and really rough a 250f is definitely easier to ride. When your riding nice fresh tillage/loam or real deep sand a 450 is going to be better.

I think 350s are great and I'm not shocked to see those results. In general I had a positive experience with mine. 1 thing I will say is practicing on one and racing one are 2 different experiences. When you can take the lines that you want, on a practice day etc, they are absolute rockets. But sometimes when racing when you have to take lines that you dont want, with traffic or trying to pass a 450 rider etc, it can be a challenge. That's where I see the difference. You just don't have the options that you have on a 450, in some turns. The 350 likes to stay moving. I'd still rather have a 350 than a 450 but thats just 1 drawback if them, from my experience.

Yup. I race vet class. Always get stuck behind a slower guy on a 450 . Definitely difficult to pass but its fun.

250s, tested together, 450 / Open class, bigger than 250cc, together. We, the Buyers in this pastime, can, generally, ride this variety of capacities / stroke # types in our racing.

But no, we rarely, if ever see that done. Yes, ML, it's hard to do / manufacturers may not want it, but, This site is The Giant of MX sites, and one would think it may want to deliver the very best, And Representative, reportage and testing.

If you can’t pass a 450 on your 350 on a motocross track, it is extremely unlikely that it is because of your lack of hp.
