In recent years, which OEM has had the best contingency money? Is it worth it, in your experience, to chose one brand over another because their contingency is better?

Back in the day it used to be Suzuki, buddy of mine wrecked his dad's new silverado back then and his dad made him pay to fix with it contingency money. My buddy raced all spring/summer and paid the money back though, life lesson!

Depends what is available at your local races. We have three off-road series here that pay husky and ktm contingency but only one of them pays Yamaha and kawasaki.

I looked at all manufactures this year and KTM was by far the best paying if you are not talking supercross or AMA pro nationals. KTM pays great in offroad and motocross. Nothing will match the good ole' days of Suzuki contingency but if you are chasing contingency payouts today, KTM has been the best in all my research.

I have made some decent contingency racing the NGPC offroad series this year and the KTM money is easy to use at your dealer towards parts, accessories and even bikes. Their online program for tracking your earnings is great and the contingency support when needed has been superb as they actually respond and handle questions or updates immediately in my experience. Two thumbs up here and I added the link below.
